Draft: The Toss Draft

Let me go and cry in a corner

I would have argued against Tye being likeable before but that was before I realised how much he supported Pride, now I feel so shit for not liking him. Great guy. Still not the best bowler

With some of the draft picks, I wonder how they were allowed. Certainly not test players...
It has come to my attention I forgot to put who was eligible for the draft in the rules. Oops...

(For context, the rule is "any player who has played representative (FC/OD/T20) cricket - so Tye would have still been legal; the only potentially illegal pick so far would have been Paul Chin, but I think all T20s are first class nowadays so)

Honestly most of the Scorchers are victims of their own success in terms of likability - but yeah you hit the nail on the head there assuming "still not the best bowler" is referring to first class haha

He's good and somehow ends up on the top wickets list of consecutive years but he gives too many runs. Since 2018 he's not been the best

He got that back under control this year, bar two or three games. Overall, both Jamie Overton and Nathan Ellis were more expensive

Staying Player List
@Aislabie - :eng: :ar: Darren Maddy

In the true spirit of real 90s England, Aisy's 90s England nomination was a bits and pieces allrounder. Unfortunately, he got stuck with him.

@Verified Enigma - :ban: :bat: Shabbir Rahman

Sabbir is perhaps not the greatest retention, given his mediocre record and off-field issues.

@CerealKiller - :ind: :ar: Dinesh Mongia

The fact that this might be the best retention probably says more about the other retentions than it does about Mongia.

Swapping Player List
@icyman (via Disharies) - :eng: :ar: Ben Stokes

And every retention just got eclipsed. This must be a player Icy is Stoked to get.

@ddrap14 (via Icyman) - :ind: :bat: Sourav Ganguly

Pretty much the perfect player for my team. I needed a specialist batsman, and here's a very good one.

@Supreme General (via Yash) - :ind:  Napoleon Einstein

Congrats, I guess

@Viper. (via me) - :eng: :bwl: Angus Fraser

The definition of Workhorse Seamer, I've given Viper a reliable quick to open the bowling alongside Waqar. Not that he wanted that because...

@Till Valhalla (via Viper) - :eng: :bwl: Sydney Barnes

...he nominated a generational one. Barnes is a big addition for a team of batsmen.

@Disharies (via Supreme) - :eng: :bwl: Craig Overton

Not the most talented of the Overtons, but Craig can certainly do a job - with bat too, as he prevented a truly soul crushing score against NZ a few years ago. England were simply humiliated instead.

@Yash. (from Till Valhalla) - :saf: :wkb: Heinrich Klaassen

A round of big wins for Yash, who got rid of Napoleon Einstein for a big upgrade at keeper.

You know what, I can deal with Darren Maddy. He more or less serves as a new ball watchman, but that's fine; as a bonus, he's a decent enough fourth-and-a-half bowling option in case I end up needing one. Who needs Ben Stokes anyway?

So my team so far:

1. :eng: :ar: Darren Maddy
2. :pak: :bat: Wajahatullah Wasti
3. :nzf: :bat: Kane Williamson
4.
5.
6.
7. :aus: :wk: Ian Healy
8. :pak: :ar: Wasim Akram

Just by the way you're missing an entire round there; the missing players are a nomination of Hoggy and a reception of Venugopal Rao. AKA, Indian Darren Maddy
