Following a historic agreement between the leaders of Pakistan, India, China and Afghanistan, peace has broken out in the subcontinent.
Immediately following the treaty, the cricket boards of Pakistan and India announced a landmark cricket series between the two countries. Pakistan would tour their neighbours for 7 ODIs, 5 Test matches and 3 T20Is. The tour would be conducted under the "Super Series" format, in which 2 points would be awarded for each victory in a limited overs match, 4 points for a victory in a Test match, 2 points for a draw or a tie in a Test, and 1 point for a no result or a tie in a limited overs match. The team with the most points at the end of the tour would be awarded the Amarnath-Kardar Trophy, named after the first captains of both nations, Lala Amarnath and Abdul Hafeez Kardar.
The T20I leg of the tour would be named "Aman Cup", and would be played in Kashmir. "Aman" means "peace" in Hindi and Urdu.
Afghanistan also announced a short tour to Pakistan before the latter's team's departure for India, during which they would play their inaugural Test match in Peshawar, a city home to many Afghani refugees.
