Welcome to the story of my discovery of and experiences on the Internet and PlanetCricket. Credits to @PresidentEvil / @AliB for the idea.

I "discovered" the Internet when my father bought a laptop for himself about 10 years ago. By that time, i was already watching cricket, but didn't understand much of it. As i've said somewhere else, in the very first match i watched, Shahid Afridi hit a century off 45 balls, which pretty much set the bar for what i expected every batsman to do :p. He was watching cricket highlights on a website named "cricfire.com" one day, and i sat beside him and started watching too. I would go on to binge watch every video i could find on that site while he was at work. I ended up watching the whole 2005 Ashes series highlights, every Pakistan match i could find, and some other matches as well. We had ARY Digital in Europe on our cable those days, so i could watch the India-Pakistan series that year as well. Afridi was already my idol after his aforementioned century, but when he finished a chase of 322 in the 2nd ODI with a quick innings, he pretty much became my hero, alongside Younis Khan, who scored a century, if i remember correctly. I started understanding cricket better after this, and followed the ICL (who remembers it? :p), where i was really impressed by Imran Nazir's hitting, and the IPL in 2008. The 2009 T20 WC win remains my second most favourite cricket moment of all time, after the CT win this year. I lost touch with cricket following that WC until the Pakistan-SA series in 2010. I had heard on the news about the spot fixing scandal, but didn't really understand it, as the concept of "fixing" was unknown to me. My dad was watching the second ODI of that series, and i ended up watching. Abdul Razzak's hitting was absolutely brutal in that match. Pakistan won by 1 wicket, and i was back in love with cricket. After the WC in 2011 (which i think we were unlucky not to win), i followed the WI series following that, and was shocked by Afridi's retirement, and stopped watching cricket. Thankfully he came back months later :p. Once again, i stopped following after the 2012 WC, came back for the India series in 2012-13, then stopped again. I watched the 2013-14 series against SL, as i was in Pakistan then, and then keenly followed the T20 WC and Asia Cup in 2014. By this time, i had an FB account, and i had "liked" many cricket pages, and was watching videos on YouTube as well. I never stopped watching cricket from this point onwards. I enjoyed debating about cricket, but the only place i could do that was FB, and sometimed YT comment sections. I was disgusted by people abusing each other just for having another opinion, but kept going back. Eventually i got tired of it. Which brings us to PlanetCricket.

The reason i discovered PC is a strange one. I was following a Youtuber called "Tyson Bennet", who did DBC14 Career Mode videos, and he regularly referenced to PC as a place where you could discuss the game. But i didn't search it yet. It was when i was looking for a place where people could talk sensibly about cricket that i found it. I searched "cricket discussion forum" on Google. The first link was PC. I recognised it from Tyson Bennet's videos, so decided to register an account, and started posting in the Cricket Discussions forum, without even bothering to ever scroll down towards all the awesomeness you can find down here :D. I remember @FireAndBlood was the first to post on my profile, probably looking for an easy troll victim :p. But i am thankful to him anyway for being friendly with me at the start. I got into a lot of arguments, especially with PokerAce, who is now sadly banned forever, and with @kushal17 . I didn't exactly know how to debate correctly, but with time I learned. I had signed up in May 2015, and in September, i saw the banners on the site urging us to sign up for the PCPL. I was interested, and signed up, but wasn't bought, of course, as i wasn't even active in any section apart from Cricket Discussions.
The PCPL led me to explore the site more. I found out about the Cricket Leagues section. The first league I participated in was @Field Marshal "50-50 Supercup", as he had just opened signups.
I explored the section a bit, and I ended up on @Na Maloom Afraad 's Haier Cup thread. I liked the league so much that I read through the whole first two seasons, and then I signed up as a reserve manager. When I finally got my chance, NMA got banned for three months. :lol When he returned, he restarted the league and I won it without losing a match. ;)
In the PCPL midseason auctions, @AliB and the Amigos expressed their interest in signing me, but chose someone else ultimately. I started posting more and more regularly in different sections, and made some friends in the likes of @Na Maloom Afraad @Sami Kumar @Field Marshal @AliB @Sam. (with whom i have collaborated in many leagues) @RUDOLPH @zwarrior and some others whose names are slipping my mind right now. @Pinch hitter @PresidentEvil @CaptainCremer @VC the slogger and @Aislabie were people i respected as well, and i still hold them in the highest of regards. I had a "feud" with @Naman Thakur , but we eventually became friends :cheers.
I had submitted a Staff Application for Sportsbookie, as i found the section really cool, but understandably didn't receive any response. After some months, i requested @User2010 to reconsider my application, but he offered me a position in the FC team instead, as @_Sam_ and @Tarzan , the only two active guys in that section, were about to get busy for a bit. I was obviously delighted, and i couldn't have been given a better partner than @zwarrior . I really enjoyed the FC duty, and i still do, and now that the legend himself @PresidentEvil has joined us, it is even better :yes. I made really good friends with @Deleted User , who shared a ton of hobbies/interests with me.
With the help of some members, we managed to revive the Mafia section, which seems to have died out again, but i'll do my best to keep it alive by running a game shortly.
I hope to keep making great contributions to this great forum in the future. Sorry if i forgot to mention anyone, and i hoped you enjoyed reading this.

Can we have a movie based on this exceptional true story?
