So here's a full Summary of my journey throughout the internet, I hope you'll have a great read!
On April 11, 2011 - I was bought a a computer for the first time by my dad. That time, I was a noob of noobs to operate a computer or anything related to it. Basically, I just knew MS Office, paint and other essentials and basic softwares. Nonetheless, I used it for 4 months like that! Then I got the Cricket 07 game from a nearby PC & Peripherals shop. I used to play the game and all.
After a month if I recall correctly I got a USB Modem. I used to search for the mods and I was directed to PlanetCricket several times. But I'd never download files which were attached and asked registration. Would always search for any external links(Thinking that PlanetCricket is a paid site).
Finally on 16th May, 2012 - I registered for the first time just to download mods (Username:
@AMB). Time passed but I'd only visit the site to download mods for Cricket 07. My first subscription was
@Vivek7 's (CoolBuddy thread. This went for almost one and quarter year. When I first want to change the color of the English kit (When the transformation from blue to red occurred). I desperately searched the web for this phrase - "How to change the color of a kit in cricket 07"
. Continuing the query, I got a tutorial on how to make a kit for Cricket 07.
I got posts stating the requirements - of which Photoshop was the most Important athlete of the race. But I never used Photoshop before that. Searched and got the free version of it (I recall it was a trial as CS2 wasn't free at that time.). Opened Photoshop for the first time and yes it was something like - "What the hell this is?" For almost a week I was unable to even start a new canvas. I did learn a bit of it and as time passed I learned much of it!
I don't recall correctly but in August/September 2013 I somewhere announced that I'm doing a Kit pack comprising of all test playing teams. I remember the first response I got was from
@Salman. (then: salmanali10). I was excited and regardless of checking the rules, I created a thread (required Moderator Approval) in the Cricket 07 Downloads Forum. I got a message in next to the (deleted) thread saying - Deleted by MattW. Reason - You need a complete thread with proper download kink/attachment.
After that, I submitted my first Kit - India 2013 ODI Kit. I did something for the first time in Photoshop. I got the first reply from
@DAP. He used to be one pf the most active member that days! Followed by
@Aravind. (then Arun.)
@abishakprabu and
@ImNeer. (then Neer10) I started getting interest, I didn't even know how to insert an image in BB Code (at that time the only option was the BB Code editor and no rich text editor was available.) I asked for help on how to insert an image, people helped me but the noob in me didn't understand how to insert an image.
I requested
@Rizwan78 to make banners for my thread and the good of him made me a banner. Then I pressed the reply button and found that we have to use tag to insert an Image.
I went on making some mods then thought of graphics. Seeing the greats like Neer/Arun. I seeked help from them and started my graphics thread. Here again I got the same people responding first. In addition -
@SambarVadai (then Anirundh.) and
@Meet helped me out.
Seemingly I entered the Friendly Battles and first competed with Arun. & salmanali10. In this period I started spamming the forum. Received my first warning (from
@Simon). Continuing the same thing I received a ban of one week(end of November).
I made an account with a fake name. And voted for
@Jine (then warlord) withe three accounts in a friendly battle. Wrong fingers rose against him and when barmyarmy found that it was a multiple account issue he banned all the accounts permanently. I created another account just for asking forgiveness. Barmyarmy agreed that he'll allow any of my one account after giving it a two month ban. All that happened and my worst nightmare was that the PCGMC Season 6 started at the time when my ban was only half done. I asked them to unban me ( I know that I was absolutely wrong of running away from my punishment) but then too I kept on harassing them and my ban went on increasing.
In the mean time I made two accounts (
@Iamhere with a proxy site &
@Rohit45 when I got a new IP from Vodafone). Entered into the leagues section with that for the first time with a FIFA World Cup 2014 (Classic) which was simulated with the help of FIFA 14 (the same game I play till now). I got good signups and all went wrong when I ended up having no knowledge about in-game simulation. I created a graphics thread with both the accounts. And that all ended in a few months when my original account was unbanned and I logged in with that.
I received a three-month ban (on June 5, 2014) and this time I thought of facing the ban. In that period I started losing interest in the site. I don't remember the reason why I went to the site but I read that that the site is moving to xenForo. I was pretty excited and then visited back a week back and found that something is different. Thanks to the great work on the themes by Matt that it didn't seem much different. Normally it looked just like a small update on the old vBulletin forum software.
I waited desperately but then 5th September came (the date which was supposed to be end date of my ban). But I waited for a day and two and three and even a month passed but my ban never got lifted. I created a new account
@AMB1 and only used that to post my plea in the Contact a Mod forum. But things got worsen. I never got a reply but I was permanently with that account.
A week later, On October 7 2014 - I created a new account (thinking of last time) with the name Cricket. The very next day I started the traditional Graphics thread of all accounts. I got good response and went on doing some good stuff.
@Earagav and
@Salman. reportedly posted about multiple accounts of mine and all.
@Sarvesh. (who didn't even know me supported me and we became good friends. Time went on and on.
@Sulaiman7 helped me throughout my early stages with the graphics but unfortunately he got busy and left the site in a few months. I got a PM from
@Sodium (stating that he knows all my real identities). Then he revealed that he is a Facebook friend.
I ran a few disappointing leagues. All were great ideas, but pathetic management. In my first league
@Na Maloom Afraad &
@SRT helped me out. I met a new friend in
@SixerBoy11 who helped me a bit in things and I introduced Cricket Leagues to him.
New year came and no one was creating any sportsbook events. But that ended up on a bookie stating that they are unable to wager on self-created events so that will follow. I waited for a month and asked Matt if we can have some better bookies showing myself as an interest. I and
@Sodium were appointed together on 17th February 2016. Things didn't go as per plans. Due to a site we used to co-administer had very much copies of PlanetCricket. We received a conversation from Matt saying that he is giving a deadline to us of 48 hours to remove the things but we failed and got banned.
When we returned it was the day when
@SixerBoy11 &
@PCA started one of the most dynamic league ever ran on PlanetCricket. I was a proud part of it.
Things went on and on. On July 3, 2015 I was reselected in the Sportsbook staff. I was happy and joyful. I did very good in the job now. My worst day came was 22nd August, 2015 when I was removed again due to couple incorrect deliberate settlements.
After completing that ban, I accepted the crime of several multiple accounts by PM'ing the list to
@Gaurav. He gave me a ban of a month and since I'm still doing good for the site. I finished 6th in the Season 6 of the PlanetCricket Graphics Maker Championship. Things went on happening and all.
I don't remember the exact date but new people became my friends.
@CerealKiller is one of the best friends of mine currently.
Since then I've completed four of the ten leagues I've managed. I continuously did graphics and completed 125 pages of artworks. I've learned a lot from Salman., Simon, Aggz & Pranav in graphics. Nonetheless
@Aravind. &
@ImNeer practically helped me. With such great feedback from SixerBoy11, Na Maloom Afraad & Sodium (which I can never deny) I have been one of the top graphic designers currently on the site.
P.S. Forgive me for too many mentions ( I wanted all of the ones I've met remember the gold memories).
