Brett Lee has completed an outstanding year by winning his first Allan Border Medal despite missing the entire World Cup with an ankle injury. Fittingly, in a season when he took over from Glenn McGrath as the spearhead of Australia's attack, Lee became the first bowler since McGrath in 2000 to claim the major award.

He also took home the Test Player of the Year title, while Matthew Hayden was named the One-Day International Player of the Year. Lee finished with 125 votes in the Allan Border Medal count, ahead of Hayden on 107 and last year's champion Ricky Ponting on 64.

Hes champ..he deserve that. One of the Best bowler of Now days.
His effort is not only that he bowls at 145kmph but he do that six times in a over..Hard man.Brilliant character..Nice Individual..

Well deserved. Lee is probably the best bowler in the world right now and definitely the best fast bowler going around. What's scary is that he is just starting the peak of his career.

Sid I am watching these days. You taking so much interest in News???
Are you planing to join any news channel???lol...

Great work Binga! He deserved with man of the series performances in the Sri Lanka test series and the India test series, he also has 2 5ers this ODI series. Nice bowling BINGA!:):p

Defiantly deserved. He was my top pick.

When you consider the effort, training, etc. which all goes into this. It's amazing how fit he is. He's barely injured and fires down 150km balls time after time.

The passed year, in all forms, when Australia needed a wicket, he'd get one the majority of the time.

I think Clarke will win it next year.

Well deserved for Lee, he has transformed so quickly from being an average quickie to a consistent and wicket taking quickie.

Not much of a surprise. Was always thinking it would be Lee or Hayden. Both have been in stunning form. Glad he took it out.
