North was excellent in 4 matches and pretty good in a couple. In comparison with Katich, his score looks a little inflated.

He was still our most consistent player until the local summer, Phil Hughes and Mitchell Johnson were strong in South Africa but not in England while Clarke was the other way around and they were the other solid performers. North was strong in both series but lost his way in the local summer when guys like Watson, Bollinger and Hauritz started getting points. Katich was not as solid but maintained form the whole year and consistency and a pretty good local summer got him the test award in the end.
