It's tricky giving Pope the gloves at 3, yeah. I think he could do it but there's already enough pressure on him with the bat. As it's short term it wouldn't hurt because everyone knows Smith would be coming back in. I still think they'll go with Cox but they must be looking at the way both of them have played this past two weeks and be tempted to pick Bethell.

Yeah, I was thinking about Salt as an opener too. He'd certainly look a better number 7 right now than Cox.

Yeah they're really going to have to give this some thought now.

Didn't see last night but saw he put in another impressive performance with the bat. Averaging 57.66 @ 167.96 in T20 internationals, that's test match form.

Based on form I'd take Salt at 7 over Cox.
