Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Yeah they haven’t taken it out after all. It’s just broken. Who would have thought.
My game didn't have this issue until the last couple of days. I played around with some sliders recently and now it never triggers the mini game when I get edges. Does anyone have any idea why it does this or if there are specific settings I can change back?

Is there a way to create a tournament that has a host country, similar to what they allow you to do for the odi and t20 World Cup?

Operation Sports published an article today about the issues with Cricket 24 and cricket games in general: https://www.operationsports.com/cri...-so-why-cant-video-games-live-up-to-the-hype/

I don't really know if the author's analysis is correct, but I don't personally like their solutions, except the first one. The second one is not something Big Ant (or another studio) could do anyway. What do you think?

  • Fix the obvious glitches: The glitches and bugs make the recent cricket games unplayable, even for the die-hard fans. Moving forward, studios should focus on making a game that doesn’t piss people off.
  • Fix the licensing nightmares: The ICC must step in. Bundle global licenses (IPL, international teams, players) under one deal, like FIFA’s FIFPro agreement. No more “V. Striker” nonsense — give us the real Kohli, Babar, and Stokes.
  • Ditch hyper-realism; prioritize fun: Studios need to realize that fans don’t care about the nuances of LBWs, they care about fun. Instead of focusing on making the game hyper-real, they should focus more on the gameplay – add chaos modes and multiplayer features like EA FC’s Ultimate team to bring more replayability.
  • Mobile first, console second: With Cricket’s market being more concentrated in South Asia, developers should put more focus on mobile gaming. India has more than 500 million mobile gamers. Tapping into that market with a free-to-play mobile game with IPL licenses and good gameplay could provide competition to games like FIFA Mobile.

Most of it don’t make sense.. don’t think any BA game has had Joe Rutt in it?
