Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Mad as he wants to be! I got bored at work and made a bunch of 90s fantasy team based on silly things like fielders, all rounders, all spin, all pace, Africa, Asia etc can't wait to fill them with these great creations

Hi I need some help I have the game purchased on steam and I am trying to migrate my saved playfaces teams textures stadiums and save games from one PC to another can you please advise the best way to do this? I can redownload the game on steam on the new PC however it stated that it does not take a copy of the user settings where and what do I need to copy from the other PC to the new one?

Hi, me and a mate have just got the game on PS Plus and have been playing some tests online. Does anyone know if we both have the same teams downloaded from comm creations, will they load for both of us? Ie. Can we recreate 2005 ashes series?

Also what are people's thoughts on the current game state? I was quite active in one of rumple's around the world threads on cricket 22 and enjoyed it but never picked 24 up due to the poor release

You will see the proper logos if you both downloaded the same teams. Cricket 24 is in a better state, probably a tad better than Cricket 22 but don't expect groundbreaking things. Also, there are some bugs and glitches that might put off at least some folks.

Thanks that's great! And what about sliders , I assume we can't use custom sliders online, just the default difficulties?

Yeh I don't mind the game, the fielding is somehow worse than 22 in my opinion but if you'd told me I was playing cricket 22 I'd have believed you .

Also saw people talking about tiebreak, tennis would be more my thing than cricket as i follow it and have played more. In my opinion tiebreak is an awful tennis SIM. If you prefer the arcade style then yeh it's probably good but if you're looking for sim style I'd check out Tennis Elbow 4. Made by a single developer and is a far better representation of tennis. I just wish someone would do something similar for other sports games!

I don't play online that often but I am pretty sure they have introduced custom sliders for online mode in Cricket 24.

An ODI and a T20 I played within the last couple of days. Both ended up being thrillers and notably the AI batted really well throughout the innings. Good thing about those two matches was that it didn't feel one sided by any means. I don't know about others but I am getting the best experience out of any Big Ant cricket game in terms of AI in cricket 24

Have always found that to be the way!

I've been downloading some of Wasteyouryouths international teams. Was just playing through some quick games and noticed the ratings are higher than the base teams in the game. For instance, India's t20 lineup has 4 or 5 bowlers with a 95+ rating.

I haven't downloaded his version of England yet and noticed in the base game Stokes is the highest overall at 83. That would make him the 9th best player on the India team.

Just wondering if there's a reason for the higher ratings. I was a big fan of his creations on cricket 22 and these look great, was just curious about the ratings. Thanks!

You might be downloading old teams (e.g. from Cricket 22). The rating system changed and players got a massive bump.

Yeh spot on, didn't even realise they ported over creations from 22.

The academy overall is dreadful. Lots of censored names and players duplicating. Its a shame because people put a lot of good work into these and BA make a mockery of it

Nah. It's much, much worse. Granted, Cricket 24 has had a lot of updates since it came out (and the benefit of 5 previous games in the series). That said, Rugby 25 has been in development for quite some time. It was announced in March 2023 (as Rugby 24), so it was, I hope, in development before it was announced for a decent period.

Cricket 24 has its issues and is fairly repetitive, but it still feels like cricket for the most part. I don't know what Rugby 25 feels like or what it's trying to be.
