Ideally should've been Sehwag but he is a kind of player who can't really lead from the front all the time, Captain should set an example. Gambhir is ideal for a couple of years + hopefully Kohli will be established in tests as well by then to take over from him.
Assuming that you're comparing them based on ODI's given Rohit hasn't played a test yet, Kohli is the highest scorer in ODI's this year and got a couple of 50's in the only test he played against WI at home. How much more consistent you need him to be? :p
The only player deserving rest was Dhoni but given his lack of form in tests he needs to play this series to get back in form in tests as well. Good to see selectors picking a full strength squad, we saw how even after resting from WI tour, our players got injured in the England tour. If...
Michael Kasprowicz
Debut vs West Indies at Brisbane, Nov 22-26, 1996
Mat: 38 | Wkts: 113 | Ave: 32.88 | BBI: 7/36 | BBM: 8/92 | SR: 63.1
Michael Kasprowicz didn't get too many chances but was quite good when he played. A wily customer with the ball, didn't look threatening but...
We seem to be walking on a thin ice here, winning/losing by very close margins. Need to be a bit more clinical.

Bowling lacked the sting but then our batting made up for it. Finally a win in this season. Batsmen really stood up for this game after some shoddy performances.
Argh, would've liked to continue winning but oh well. Poor stuff from the bowlers, apart from Afridi no one was decent with the ball. Chase should've been paced better though, with so many wickets in hand we should've chased it off.
Sanath Jayasuriya
Debut v New Zealand at Hamilton, Feb 22-26, 1991
Mat: 110 | Runs: 6973 | Ave: 40 | HS: 340 | 50's: 31 | 100's: 14 | Wkts: 98 | Ave: 34.34 | BBI: 5/34 | BBM: 9/74
Sanath Jayasuriya is my other opener. Sanath is one of the most destructive batsman of morden era...
Close one, should've been an easy chase but the middle order really made a mess of it, Afridi played a sensible knock for a change to ease us to victory.
Darn it, was looking for an opener this round and both have been picked. :noway

Anyways my pick is,
AB De Villiers
Debut v England at Port Elizabeth , 2004
Mat: 66 | Runs: 4741 | Ave: 47.41 | HS: 278* | 50's: 23 | 100's: 12 | Ct/St: 93/1
AB De Villiers is one of the most prolific...
Bowling yorkers isn't the easiest job, I think most bowlers refrain from bowling yorkers as they might bowl a full toss. In T20 though it really depends on that particular day what is going for you as a bowler, its just too unpredictable, who would've though a bowler like Arul Suppiah would have...
What a match that was, excellent stuff from us. Clarke played an irresponsible innings but even after posting such a mediocre total we defended it quite well and that too against such a good batting lineup.
It'll be same old story. They'll do well for a season and then for some reason they'll lose all the pace they had and get injured frequently.
Ishant, RP, Sreesanth, Pathan, Balaji.. so many bowlers came in with a lot of promise and bowled quick too. After a season all became trash.
Didn't...
