    India Team Discussion

Seems like the side that will go into the WC. That will be my last comment with regards to the current Indian side. Looks like Indian cricket and the Indian cricket supporters community doesn't like constructive criticism online these days, and every comment is just a step away from you being...

India tour of New Zealand 2019

I have lived and breathed this sport for the past 25 years. I`m giving you an objective assessment of this side`s shortcomings. To claim that we have a fully equipped middle order in Rayudu, Karthik, Jadhav and MS Dhoni (current) is a claim that suits someone like Shastri but not reality. I`ve...

India tour of New Zealand 2019

The difference is that you are just churning out numbers without any context. ODI scores also have to be scaled according to the era. Anyone who watched Indian cricket in the past 25 years would tell you that the Indian ODI middle order of the early 2000s was a cut above the rest of the world in...

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

Are you Marlon Samuels?I`m thrilled with the way this day has panned out. Never thought I`d see the WI test side dominating a top tier team in such a manner again! Glad they`re back. Welcome back Windies. We`ve missed you.

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

While we figure out the real identity of @qpeedore, Darren Bravo and Dowrich have somehow taken the lead to 50. Bravo has been strokeless but hung in there. This is the difference between this side and some of the other WI sides of the recent past. The ability to hang in there and fight it out...

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

Need a lead of 100 here. WI batting last do not want to chase anything more than 100. Seem to be fluffing up a big chance here.

Marlon Samuels? Curious as to how you are privy to that bit of information.

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

Forget that 1$. The kid who watches his side beat England through attractive cricket might not have bought you the gate revenue in this game. However, he would have bought into the game of cricket for life and you potentially have a captive audience who will buy tickets for games in the future...

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

But you still have a 90 mph bowler waiting in the wings which not a lot of sides can boast of. What happened to the likes of Sheldon Cottrel and the previous generation (Fidel Edwards, Taylor, and Powell)? Do they still play domestic cricket? The one good thing that has happened to WI cricket is...

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

They have Oshane Thomas waiting in the wings too. I`ve maintained for a while that the problem with the WI is not of resources. They have a talent pool that is arguably bigger than NZ or SA or Australia currently. The WICB should take cognizance and open up the gates for the stadia. If WI...

Woakes should`ve played ahead of Curran as well. He is as good a batsman if not better and definitely the better bowler of the two.

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

I think a part of the problem that England are facing is because they don`t seem to have a clue about the wickets in the Caribbean these days. In the last 3 seasons, WI wickets have assisted the quicks far more than they did in the 2005-2015 era. They had spicy tracks against India in 2016/17...

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

Can`t think of many sides who have a decent top order against good bowling on spicy wickets, to be fair to England. Definitely not Australia.

India tour of New Zealand 2019

Sai, the point is that the MS Dhoni method will only make it look respectable. One cannot win very many games by just saving face. When we had guys like Yuvraj, Kaif and MSD 1.0 along with Dravid as the lower middle order glue, we would counter pumch to 300 from this kind of situations. England...

India tour of New Zealand 2019

This game, my friends, is why we won`t in the world cup. Unlike 2003 or 2011, this side has no spine or shock absorbers that can take us from 20/3 to 300. At best, we would save face and get to 150 or 200 on such days, and 200 won`t win you many ODIs. To all those claiming this is the best ODI...

India tour of New Zealand 2019

Balance-wise, today`s side is actually India`s best. Rayudu as No.4 is no longer that big an issue since he does`nt have to follow MSD who is another nudger. Karthik at No.5 is a perfect slot in and then the firepower of Pandya+Jadhav. Wish MSD wasn't considered that indispensable.

Your Cricket Your experiences of watching Cricket

You missed the best era (2002-2010) of Indian test match cricket overseas. The Opel Astra was awarded during the Desert Storm series against Australia, not Pakistan.

1996 WC and more specifically that India-Pakistan Q/F at B`lore was my first proper induction into watching this great sport. Lara was my favourite, despite me hailing from the city of Tendulkar (Mumbai).

England Tour of West Indies - 2019

English cricket pundits keep harking back to that 4-1 win against India at home. However, one must keep in mind that England won every single toss and got to bat first in all but one of the games (the game they also lost). That series was essentially a bat first win the game series and it was...

India tour of New Zealand 2019

Its so painful to watch Dhoni bat. We should be challenging ourselves to get to 400 in games like these. Instead, we are scratching around and playing out overs. If England were in this position and on a ground as tiny as this, they'd be getting 450. We are not going to get extra points for...
