Yes, the dew situation is not ideal but that’s what you get at this time of the year. But Sri Lanka has made some tactical errors in their bowling changes. And overall their bowling has been a let down.
I am no fan of Bangladesh but this Sri Lankan team seems the whiniest lot. They’ve been complaining about the dew and wet ball almost every over and not satisfied with the replacement ball either.
Barring Madushanka, their bowling has been mostly ineffective throughout the tournament.
It’s stupid to blame Bangladesh for taking a free wicket. Yes, probably some other teams may not have appealed. But if the rule is there you have every right to invoke it. If it is against the “spirit“ of cricket, get rid of the rule or make exceptions for certain unavoidable circumstances.
Only a controversy like this makes this match interesting
Question is. will the Sri Lankan government now appoint an inquiry commission to probe this episode.
Not going to pretend I care much for the result of today’s match. Both SL and Bangladesh have been crap this tournament and nothing exciting to expect here for a neutral fan.
Hopefully the rains will keep away from the knockouts and the final. We desperately don’t want a 20 or 25 over per side game deciding the Champion regardless of the eventual winner.
The biggest threat for India now is a rain curtailed game with DLS coming into play in a knockout game, Anything can happen then. But in a full 50 over match in normal conditions I don’t see any other team beating us.
India‘s form is just scary good. And not just one or two match winners. Almost every member of the team is a potential match winner. Especially with the bowling unit.
This is why I prefer a non-group league table for World Cup. Feels like all teams have a fair shot. Also instead of semi finals, the qualifier-eliminator system of IPL would be better. More incentive to be top two in the league table.
Oh come on man, he is an intense bowler and gets a bit hot at times but can also tear apart batting line ups on his day . We need such bowlers as well.
The one biggest thing I would like from Cricket games in the future is vastly improved situational awareness in AI gameplay. The one thing annoying is that in the last few overs of a T20 game it’s downright immersion breaking to see the AI batsmen defend like a test match or the AI fielding team...
Even in Cricket 19 after I huff and puff my way to a last ball victory with 2 wickets in hand the commentary goes like “the result was never in doubt, what a one sided contest”.
