How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

Wish I could post it up, but I didnt take a screenshot. All I can do is keep you posted on my current Test. Again, the cpu look like posting a decent score at the moment.

How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

The AI scored 534 in 145 overs as SA against me (England) in the only Test I've played since the patches, on hard level. Seems quite realistic to me. Maybe it's down to my poor bowling, although I try to get most balls in the light green/yellow areas. In my 2nd Test SA are 94/1 at lunch, day...

How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

Nice recovery Kev, what will we do without Freddie in future?;) On the subject of edges I mentioned earlier, I've started another test match on hard, SA (cpu) v Eng (me) at Cape Town and the only wicket I've taken was Gibbs, edgeing a forward defensive stroke from a delivery from Broad to...

How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

Yep, I take it Dravid is in your line up S? If so, use him as 'The Wall' and build your innings around him. Mind you, don't know why I'm offering advice after having been gubbed for 180odd and 140odd v SA:doh

How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

Try setting the batsmen to 'timid' using Shailesh's HowsDAT program. This has the effect of calming the batsmen down. On a seperate note, does anyone have trouble getting edges in hard mode? I bowled 145 overs at SA and only got about 2 edges. Any tips? Edit: You beat me to it Dutchad!

How are you going in Ashes Cricket 2009?

Kev, are you playing on hard or normal level? If you're playing on hard that's a very impressive batting display. I finished a test, on hard, SA v England (me). SA made 534, and I was skittled for 188 and 140odd. My top scoring batsman was Bell, 2nd inns, who made 75. Thinking of reverting...

Amen to that! Thanks for the reply S, just what I hoped:).

    HowsDAT !?! V1.0

S, excellent program as always (expected no less from you, I still remember using your excellent SavTweak prgram many a time back in the old c2k5 days (I think)). Just one question, if any boxes are unchecked do the settings revert back to the default game ones? In other words, if I'd set a...

    Ashes Cricket 2009 v1.1 Open Beta 2

I'm sure this has been mentioned elsewhere, but the cpu field placings need looking at. In odi's, they seem too attacking, often only leaving 2 or 3 on the boundary even in non-powerplay overs. This then makes it easier to get boundaries, as if you pierce the infield with a ground shot or go...

AC09 Player Editor - V1.0 in first post

Colin, great work on the editor as always - excellent stuff. Just a quickie - would it be possible to implement a 'difficulty level' changer, i.e. to make it possible to change difficulty levels halfway through a match (I'd like to bowl on normal and bat on hard)? This may not be something...

    West Indies in England

I'm not so sure. If he can stay mentally strong, and keep on scoring runs, it may become too difficult for the selectors to leave him out. The recall and subsequent success of Sidebottom has shown that Moores seems open to looking at everyone.

    West Indies in England

Quote by Evertonfan "Yeah if i'm honest, I only picked Broad because I ran out of options. I don't think Onions is quite ready yet." In this month's Spin cricket mag, 7 players (Blackwell, Maddy,Batty,Irani,Simon Hughes,Croft and Ian Pont (bowling coach)) were asked to pick their best 20/20...

    WC2007: Super 8

Still, we may be crap, but at least we got through the group stage. What's that saying about people in glass houses? Thank god that's all over. Best thing about it was watching the babes in the crowd.

    WC2007: Super 8

I'm almost glad we're going out of the World Cup. After years of watching England I should know better than to build up my hopes before each match only to watch the same old tripe game after game. Well played the Saffers. It's like watching men against boys. The comparisons they keep showing...

    WC2007: Super 8

He was out of order. Gamesmanship or cheating? Fine line. All credit to Nicko and Bopara though, almost digging us out of the hole that the upper order got us into yet again. I say promote KP up to 3, even open with him, to try and give us some momentum at the start of the innings.

    Bob Woolmer Dies (May 14, 1948 - March 18, 2007)

Thank you for re-opening this thread, Andrew Nixon. Whilst I totally agree with what you've said, I also believe that freedom of speech is of the utmost importance - albeit within the bounds of decency.

If this is true then what the hell was he thinking? He's supposed to be a professional taking part in a World Cup, not on bloody holiday.
