His one point is right, that inexperience did effect us in this series but what he said about the pitches is just based on this series and I am sure as the WC will progress, we will see pitches similar to CT2017.
If Wahab was in contention then he should have been given a chance in Australia...
Inzamam seems to be selecting players on media pressure. Why select Wahab when he hasn't played since 2017?
To me its a big blunder, and it will effect the the dressing room environment.
It has been Pakistan's issue since the departure of Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi.
BTW, I am not sure about the other Pakistani fans, but I am still hopeful of a good show by this Pakistani team at the WC 2019. Batting is alright, although a proper combination is still missing. Bowling was...
Sarfraz has just wasted his street smartness as a batsmen, since he became the captain. He needs to be in top four and in a perfect world opens the inning with Fakhar. It will provide him the comfort of six proper bowlers including Hafeez.
Pakistan is batting way too slow. Our batsmen need to show the intent like the English batsmen show since we can't be content with 300-320, specially on this ground.
There is another important thing that most us are forgetting in the illusion of these high scoring games, i.e. this WC is a long tournament and it is in the summers, hence there will be a natural wear and tear of the pitches. Yes, Pakistan's bowling is out of form but, on dry and slow pitches...
Yorkers need control, The young Pakistani players are either not taking care of the ball, or there is less opportunity to naturally prepare the ball for reverse swing.
In both matches English team was able to reverse the ball, but there was not reverse from Pakistan which is very surprising...
Regardless of how flat were the pitches in both matches, Pakistan's bowling is consistently poor for quite some time now. I feel there is some coaching issue as well. I think we need some one who was a good death overs bowler, also there is a remarkable shift in the playing conditions in England...
Excellent batting by Pakistan, now the bowlers need to make a comeback.
Btw, I don't know if anyone noticed but the umpiring decisions are going consistently in England's favor.
You need a backup wicket keeper, we can't afford an Umar Akmal like keeper in case of emergency and Abid Ali is selected as a backup keeper. It will not look good if Pakistan drop any of the newcomer, hence, it is a conundrum for the selectors.
Yes, I agree but we have heavily invested on Imam...
A very nice fight by Pakistan and that too while chasing a monstrous total of 374. I am presently surprised by the batting of these young batsmen and they have made it very difficult for selectors to pick the final 15 for the WC. Frankly speaking although Malik is a good batsman specially on...
Although Pakistan lost series in all formats, but this team has a lot spark. We were hit hard in tests because Azhar Ali and Asad Shafique didn't perform, hence we need to find at least couple of batsmen with decent technique that can play long innings.
For ODI, we are again short of a decent...
I am only predicting Pakistan's squad for CWC 2019. I am also expecting a 16 member squad instead of 15, with just couple of changes from the recent South African tour.
Openers:
Fakhar Zaman
Imam ul Haq
Shaan Masood
Middle Order:
Babar Azam
Shoaib Malik
Asif Ali
Wicket Keepers
Sarfraz Ahmed...
Pretty ordinary score in the end by Pakistan. I can feel for the top three batsmen, they were all genuinely unlucky. The rest of the batsmen were undone by some excellent bowling.
It will be another walk in the park for Sharma and company.
Valiant effort by Afghanistan, I can feel for Rashid Khan who played his heart out. In the end I wanted Afghanistan to some how win, but Malik's experience and some very ordinary medium pace bowling costed Afghanistan this match.
Afghanistan needs to find couple of genuine quick/swing bowlers...
Afghanistan is a pretty decent team but 50 overs are way too long for them to topple experienced teams.
I am expecting India to win the Asia Cup. Pakistan will most likely qualify for the final.
Fawad exclusion is shocking to me, specially when we have seen how the younger players crumbled even against Srilanka and that too in known conditions. Fawad is probably the unluckiest player and it will cost Pakistan.
4 openers mean that the selectors and the coaching staff are unsure about the...
Fakhar is in the league of its own in this batting lineup so he will be missed in this match. Time for the top 3 to step up, also it can result into a healthy competition among the selected openers.
