Pakistan Tour of England 2019

Why the hell didn't he appeal? He should at least know the rules. Even if one bail is off, you can run the batsman out by removing the other one.

Didn't he say something like, "I thought the third umpire would alert the on field umpire about it". They won't just give you a wicket if you don't appeal for it. What the heck is he on about. He also said, "I thought both bails were off". OK? Then why not try to take out the stumps after your gather. Does he know the rules? Not great signs from a captain.

looks like it going to be another high score by England, I think they might get over 350 again.

More like 400+ chief. They're batting at 7.8 in the 28th over - with Buttler, Ali, and Stokes still in the shed.

Yeah I can see that now haha, 400 is on the cards, Pakistan cannot score 400, if Pakistan can try and get England to below 350 then I think they can chase that down..which won't happen looking at that score.

Well I just called for it. You just can't keep batting the way you are. Had England been a bit more patient to up the scoring rate they could've got 400. Sometimes you need to get down your head and respect the bowling. If Pakistan can get off to a good start they can get this score

Yeah if the opening the batsman can get a good start then they can chase this down, Pakistan can't depend on their lower batsmans.

Sarfraz has just wasted his street smartness as a batsmen, since he became the captain. He needs to be in top four and in a perfect world opens the inning with Fakhar. It will provide him the comfort of six proper bowlers including Hafeez.

That was some gritty effort from the tail enders there. If only the rest of the side showed something similar..

I think England should drop Wood or Plunkett from the squad. Every other bowler in their squad offers something different. Wood’s good for his pace (which only rarely hits 90s though) which Archer already provides, and he lacks the variations that others have. And Plunkett hasn’t been in good form even in domestic cricket and seems to have lost a bit of the pace he once had. However, Plunkett’s been the man who takes wickets during the middle overs besides Rashid and this might just push him ahead of Wood. The only other alternative is to take all of the pacers and drop Denly, hoping that the spinners stay fit for the entire tournament.

At the end of the day, so many of our batsman are the same; Iman, Babar, Sarfaraz, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik - they are all the same style of batsman. They take their time to build an innings. But we still lack the power so much - once again evidenced today.

It has been Pakistan's issue since the departure of Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi.

BTW, I am not sure about the other Pakistani fans, but I am still hopeful of a good show by this Pakistani team at the WC 2019. Batting is alright, although a proper combination is still missing. Bowling was weak but Except Hassan Ali, all the bowlers were very inexperienced and with Shadab and Aamir back, we can except better bowling performances. Fielding is the worst of all but its all about momentum and peaking at the right time with Pakistan.

Can we class Tom Curran as a all rounder yet his pretty underrated

He definitely is a bowling all rounder at the least, I remember him being quite handy with the bat in the BBL.
