Pakistan Tour of England 2019

Lastly, no one should got the feeling that he is inevitable part of squad be it Hasan Ali. He has been utterly poor. I would like to see hasnian in the next game in place of Fahim and Abid in place of Imam

True, that not fair with Cricket and ODI format. Pitches have to bit supportive to have competitive bowling and that is for all teams good. I would like to reemphasize the point of Haris Sohail. He has been an exceptional talent, he shouldn't be costed in order to adjust Shoaib. Haris is our backbone in the middle order lineup and most reliable batsman.

I listened to Rashid a bit and he said we should back Fahim Ashraf. One thinks and asks what has been his performance over the years that you are supposed to back him. What exceptional talent he possesses. Just because he can bat and bowl. There can be thousands like him in the domestic circuit who didn't get consistent chances.

The only thing I am going to say is; the World Cup is going be a joke if all the games are 330+ and chased.

Next game is in Trent Bridge, which is a 400+ ground. What happened to the quality pitches.

The last WC was no different. Since England became a batting powerhouse, the pitches have got a lot flatter in England as well. I`d rather have a 1999 WC-like tournament with a lot of close games than these one-sided yawnfests.

Even pitches like CT'13 would make it a great and even contest. Sri Lanka beating England at The Oval was one of the moments for me. The time I started watching Cricket I used to love these ODIs where 260-270 runs were being scored and it became a nail-biting thriller. Whenever teams like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia or South Africa used to play back then they never used to give up and teams had to actually beat them unlike today's one-sided contests. I think teams have started realising the importance of bowling in Test Cricket atleast which have been a positive sign. I believe there would definitely some bowling friendly pitches in future, we just got to be patient enough

BTW nice to see to posting here once again

Regardless of how flat were the pitches in both matches, Pakistan's bowling is consistently poor for quite some time now. I feel there is some coaching issue as well. I think we need some one who was a good death overs bowler, also there is a remarkable shift in the playing conditions in England since Azhar played.
Shadab and Aamir will be back for the WC but the issue will remain, i.e. we are not picking early wickets, which force the bowlers to bowl at negative line to save runs and become predictable. We are still missing another spinner, as I feel this WC will be win by the spinners.

True, not being able to take early wickets which are so important but also this lot has forgotten yorkers as well. They need to go back to their basics.

I also want to highlight a thing about Sarfraz. His intent was disappointing in the latter half of the match. He literally gave up post 35 overs and persisted with Fahim Ashraf.

I heard management is sending back Abid Ali to adjust Asif Ali....

Yorkers need control, The young Pakistani players are either not taking care of the ball, or there is less opportunity to naturally prepare the ball for reverse swing.
In both matches English team was able to reverse the ball, but there was not reverse from Pakistan which is very surprising.
Another issue, which I feel will be resolved in WC is that Sarfarz is always comfortable with six bowlers and with Hafeez and Shadab back, we can have this luxury.

Fahim hasn't done justice to himself, he was given ample chances but still he bats like a tailender and most of the time Hassan Ali out done him with the bat. Its good for the balance of the team that we drop Fahim.
Regarding Abid, yes, it seems very unfortunate but frankly for me both Abid and Hussnain's selection was in haste. Asif was the deserving player and fortunately he is batting good too.

Doubtful, given that YJB and Morgan won’t be playing.

Also, should Stokes’ place be under more scrutiny? Bowling with the white ball has never been a strength of his, but his batting has been quite poor in recent times. Given the balance that he offers, it’s doubtful that they would seriously consider dropping him, but does he deserve to be in the team at the moment?

There is another important thing that most us are forgetting in the illusion of these high scoring games, i.e. this WC is a long tournament and it is in the summers, hence there will be a natural wear and tear of the pitches. Yes, Pakistan's bowling is out of form but, on dry and slow pitches, they will be good enough, so we should not be too dejected with these flat pitches.

Well India would also would be hoping for the pitches to wear and tear as their spinners would enjoy bowling on those surfaces and can run through the batting line-ups of the opposition. All Asian teams bowl better on dry surfaces rather than flat surfaces with decent bounce.

Funnily enough, England are actually bowling quite decent stuff in today's match and yet have picked up only one wicket so far.

Pakistan is batting way too slow. Our batsmen need to show the intent like the English batsmen show since we can't be content with 300-320, specially on this ground.

Joe Denly should've gone for 50 in his 5. Gonna be 100 runs short.
