    2014 World Cup Knock-Out Phase: - Round 16

you want to do it this way rather than threads for each match? cool with me (I'm leaving the organisation up to you I'll just sticky the threads) but maybe stick the fixtures in the first post.

In other news, I don't see the balotelli move to arsenal happening. I think it would be good for everyone, money for tight wads milan and a big game striker for arsenal. he's not happy as Milan are in decline, milan won't sell to Juve, he's not good enough for the spanish duo, so a return to...

apparently a move to juventus is very close to being sealed, they've already had talks with him. could still end up with him in liverpool but his past success in italy makes me think he'll opt to go there.

I'm kinda pleasantly surprised the vultures don't seem to be circling our lot this year. In 20 years I don't think there's ever been as talented a group of young players in scottish football as the core we've got at dundee united right now and with young players from rangers actually abandoning...

The state of off-spin bowling/suspect actions/doosra bowlers worldwide

I kind of agree, you wouldn't want people throwing it baseball style but at heart it's a pretty odd rule. one of the problems with the murali case was that the physical deformity came into play and the rule is so unique that there are almost no other sports from which we could take examples...

    Last Movie You Watched

I'd totally 100% agree with this but I'd also throw the two other batman films in with TDKR. Honestly, it was a billionaire, dressed as a bat, running about fighting baddies dressed as scarecrows and clowns. the first one was an ok origins story, the second one was saved only by heath ledger...

2014 World Cup Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

dunno why they'd bother appealing, whatever happens they're not going to knock 4 months down to 1 week.

2014 World Cup Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

it does seem a bit stupid, I think though it has something to do with what FIFA can actually impose as a punishment. I think it's that they can't really ban him from football matches they have no jurisdiction over so they had to ban him for any involvement in football at all, which they can do...

2014 World Cup Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

I don't want to see him banned because a uruguay without suarez is pretty lame but I don't see that FIFA have a choice, 10 match ban is completely appropriate, if anything it should be more.

Rodwell, Milner, Wright-Phillips even perhaps guys like bentley. there are definitely a few that have traded a future career for a pay cheque. however, blame does lie on the clubs too, I doubt carroll thought he'd end up bench fodder when liverpool paid 30m for him.

England v Sri Lanka, Test Series (June 2014)

awesome. just awesome. no team's a loser in my book.

England v Sri Lanka, Test Series (June 2014)

it's been stren stuff from england, I'd like to see mathews chip in a couple of the last 3. genuinely amazing series from sri lanka, I don't think it's quite being appreciated how big this is. I've been calling an india win in the next series since last year, so I kinda hope India do win and I...

2014 World Cup Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon

mexicans are surely in the running for bargain bin team of the tournament. quite a few of their players have caught the eye. Layun looks capable of putting in a shift down the flank, final ball's rubbish but I think he'll still get picked up by someone.

England v Sri Lanka, Test Series (June 2014)

that's a big break through for mathews today, sri lanka really could do with him developing into a real world class player. he's one of the few that have cemented his place in the side in recent years. probably done enough these two matches to bag his wisden cricketer of the year award too.

Features you want to see in next iteration of Big Ant Cricket

I agree with this, with so much waiting about in this game a little more effort to make everything a bit more interesting would do wonders, a spider graph at a 50 and a 100 could be expanded upon so much more. I'm not too keen on the idea of a manager mode, but I would like to see some sort...

that's a brilliant article, I watch in despair as your objectively best player, rooney, is mauled in the press only for a few runs by sterling and barkley to be heralded as the future. Rooney was involved in every single goal chance england fashioned this world cup, either making the right runs...

one of the most one sided match ups of the tournament so far, Martin O'Neill obliterates Chiles, Viera and Cannavaro. (tell me if this link doesn't work, I can't actually get into youtube from work so this is a copied link)
