Scolari finally drops Paulinho, but so too Hulk from Willian

you want to do it this way rather than threads for each match? cool with me (I'm leaving the organisation up to you I'll just sticky the threads) but maybe stick the fixtures in the first post.

Ha hmm, well thread for each might is probably better. I just scrambled to create this thread cause i wasn't sure where to comment with the game about to start.

But i guess we could leave it this way..

Haa lucky Brazil, Chile brought the fire like i expected though.

That was hard to watch, but glad Brazil are through, the Chile keeper was so brilliant, probably my Man of the Match, Cesar too had a good game other than the goal conceded.

Brazil were lucky to get through. The last Chilean shot and penalty came off the crossbar. Have to feel for Bravo and Sanchez.

Maybe they should have started with someone else and brought Vidal in later on. He could have converted a penalty.

Well that was an awful way for Chile to lose, really gutted as I was supporting them here and backed them to win if they made it past Brazil.

I think we'll see Colombia vs Netherlands in the final.

What a hell of a player James Rodriguez looks to be, makes the fee Monaco paid Porto look totally worth it, look forward to seeing how he progresses with the upcoming season and importantly, getting some playing time in the CL.

That's a hell of a prediction...

Cuadrada/Rodriguez or Quintero on the flanks is going to have a field day versus Alves/Marcelo unless Scolari finds a miraculous tactic to stop them.

Potential de ja vu for Peckerman. Another w-cup quarter-final vs hosts with his team playing the most eye-catching football. Chance for redemption - just don't take off James with 20 minutes to go ha..

Is it?

Colombia are by far the strongest team in the tournament so far, and they will make an overrated Brazilian side pay. On the other side, the easy side, Argentina have been so unconvincing and other than that you have really only Costa Rica and USA who I can see possibly causing some upsets. Netherlands have been brilliant though, their attack is second to none and while a strong defence is more likely to get you to the finals, I can't see anyone else on that side going the distance.

James easily worth ?70 m+ now. I wish he left Monaco though, he isn't going to get anything there.
