Tricky road ahead as SA seek to rebuild | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo
All I can do is hold my head and shake it as usual :facepalm

For West Indies Test cricket to be saved from extinction, major reform is needed | Tim Wigmore | Sport | The Guardian
ICC's well documented structural failure is tied in perfectly Windies cricket problems
http://www.thenational.ae/sport/graeme-smith-hints-at-return-to-international-cricket-with-south-africa
Considering what's going with SA openers, this would be quite welcome if the big man comes back @stefan @Markkkkk @Rudolph
Ye ha agree with your personal choice likely squad, although I would think SA unleashing a 4-man pace attack in most of the test would literally blow ENG away and their struggles in IND would be forgotten.
What they do with Bavuma will be interesting. He is a quota pick, but did well batting...
Series review thoughts
I've always looked at this S Africa # 1 team as a similar style # 1 to:
- England team of the 1950s that were unbeaten from 1951-1958
- Windies for 63-68
- Australia from 72-76
Interestingly all of these teams era's of dominance ended with humbling defeats. England...

Debate on quality of pitches overhyped - Thakur | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo
Thakur also clarified that Manohar's views on the ICC's restructuring were personal. Manohar recently said the revamp was tantamount to...
Ye fellas @Aalay @PokerAce as i mentioned in post it looks old and he wasn't bowling like that in SA series. However I guess people could argue why he wasn't called when bowling with that actions because the crackdown started on June 6th last year, which was before the Windies series. Not sure...
this video was brought to my attention just now and while i don't think Ashwin's action has been like this during ongoing S Africa series, to my eyes this indeed shows a bit of jerk in his action
Lets not forget SA have the best record in Asia of any non SC team in the last 20 years. The great AUS team took 3 tries to win in India - no one was saying they weren't a proper # 1 because of those issues - since they won everywhere else.
Obviously this is first SC tour they have been...
I know this has not been said on these forums - but all the blogs and chatter I'm seeing is really pushing the argument that this is BCCI manipulation in the Big 3 to target Narine leading up to T20 world cup etc @PokerAce @Aalay @StinkyBoHoon @Samuels @westindies2007 @grkrama @Untouchables666...
Ye totally agree @PokerAce - that umpires call i never agreed with. People are complaining about the DRS now & as i mentioned before that original article suggestion from this thread is the best way I've heard/seen anyway to get the best balance for DRS.
NZ definitely got better as series progressed so in a way this 2-0 series loss is a bit of harsh reflection on them.
Another test around the world finishes in 3 days in conditions that help bowlers, batsmen worldwide have to take a hard look at themselves.
Sunil Narine suspended after action found illegal | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo
Since the crackdown started I'm always surprised at the lab assessments of Narine's action. Defining moment in his career now no doubt...
Ye the Van Zyl opening experiment has failed his future is as a middle order bat, time to give Cook a chance. Also De Kock back for Vilas. Otherwise the team is still strong @stefan
You are over-exaggerating. In the last 5 years or so the most difficult Sub continent tour facing spin was going to UAE vs Ajmal/Shah/Babar/Rehman/Hafeez. When AUS/ENG/SA lost series/tests their heavily struggling vs the spin no one complained, since overall pitch assisted spin the normal way...
I can't remember if AUS ever did it specifically b4, but I've seen a few teams over the years send out their support staff as fielders. But of course a FC cricketer would be preferable
