England Team Discussion

well Bell had to go, and i think the feeling with Rashid is only one spinner will play, so better he goes to the Big Bash than carry drinks. I think the exclusion of Plunkett is a very poor decision, however.

I can't understand the Plunkett decision. Without Finn and Wood, he's your one real wildcard pace bowler. Also, he's way better than Jordan.

As for Rashid, I don't think that's a bad shout. They've obviously decided he'll go to India for world t20 so he may as well play t20 cricket. I probably would have had a look at someone other than Patel though. I assume Ansari still isn't fit.

Yeah I'm really surprised by this, the management have made some good decisions but this is a strange one. With Wood and Finn out I would have expected him to be a starter. Hopefully Footit will shine, have heard good things about him and he will give us something different. Wood is a worry, he doesn't appear to be able to go more than a game or two without picking up injuries.

That pace attack looks very ordinary unless SA decides to prepare green seamers. They will struggle if SA prepares normal fast bouncy tracks, they lack any real pace as far as I can tell.

look, take out Bell and we agree on everything!

I've not seen much of Footit so can't comment, but the rest are very samey RFM - Plunkett would have given us something different and some real pace to strike back with.

Ansari still not fit.
Plunkett decision is baffling, as was the calling up of jordan for the finn injury for the uae, should have been woakes all the time

If stokes is fit:
Cook
Hales
Compton
Root
Taylor
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes
Broad
Anderson

Will be the team i feel, and if stokes isnt, ali goes to 6, woakes(who debuted at 6) to 8, and fottit slides in.

Although before HAles's ODI Ton if theyd picked this squad, id have said they are going bsck to compton to open, as it looked like they had clear reservations over him[DOUBLEPOST=1447956716][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is why plunkett should have been picked. But i think the decks will suit stokes' bowling a lot imo[DOUBLEPOST=1447956763][/DOUBLEPOST]Fottit im unsure of, as he has been div 2, and weve seen over the years the diffference in between the diviosns the standard sare

Is that the Perth '02 lineup? Didn't Silverwood get injured after about half an hour?
Indeed he did. And then Alex Tudor had his face broken by Brett Lee.

It was also in the days before Harmison realised he was supposed to hit the batsman's toes, not his own.

I remember thinking that Rob Key would be a superstar after watching him stand up to the Aussie quicks. Didn't quite work out. I think the spell that Brett Lee bowled in the second innings of that match is the quickest I've ever seen.

^ Actually about the revenue part, its supposed to be Pakistan's 'home' series, so while no doubt ECB will get some revenue, but I suppose a bulk of the money could go to PCB. I am not sure what kind of a deal will be worked out finally, but the ECB may not get as much revenue as you think.

Well ECB wouldn't do it for free. Any money is better than a kick in the head.

I believe when England hosted the Pakistan and Australia test series in 2010, all of majority of money went back to PCB.

England fans. Little challenge for you. Predict what England's t20 WC provisional squad of 30 will be. Can anyone get all 30?

Here's my effort

1. Morgan
2. Buttler
3. Root
4. Roy
5. Hales
6. Vince
7. Billings
8. Bairstow
9. Stokes
10. Davies
11. Northeast
12. Whiteley
13. Wright
14. Westley
15. Patel
16. Ansari
17. Rashid
18. Ali
19. Parry
20. Beer
21. Woakes
22. Broad
23. Topley
24. Willey
25. Jordan
26. Finn
27. Wood
28. Gurney
29. Plunkett
30. Bopara

I'd imagine we can all get 23/24 correct. Will be the last few that are more difficult.
