Unfortunately missed the stream, but as a team owner couldn't be happier with three wins from three games. Thankfully the batting has saved us so far in this tournament. Another good knock by the skipper!
Good to see the Grubs featuring a few times in those stats, been two brilliant chases in a row by the lads. Hopefully the great batting form continues!
Strange indeed. According to my D/L Method calculator the Panthers target should've been 151, which means they should've lost by 6 runs but who knows if it's exactly accurate...the D/L calculation for the game seems more accurate though.
Stoked with that start, couldn't have asked for more from the batters. Bowlers will need some more practice, but now looking on to my next game against @NePtuNe Gaming. Can't wait for it!
P.S. commiserations @Dutch., your boys batted well but it was not enough..:D
Great work as always...
If I lose to @Dutch after his shocker in the warm ups then the Grubs players will certainly each recieve a great beating down in the rooms after the match!
I am too, but we will see...:p
Looks like a high scoring start to the tournament, big scores even being posted at some of the larger grounds as we saw from some of the warm ups. Might be a batsman's tournament?...
Hopefully my Grassy/Dusty pitch can offer something to both the pacers and spinners when I take on old Dutchy boy!
Ah and the trend did continue. Gee, that was a handy partnership at the end with Pandya absolutely going bang playing the finisher role and Mr 360 playing a typical captain's knock to guide us home.
The bowlers may need some more time in the nets back during training, but happy with the batting...
Hopefully it will stay that way...
Gosh, Morkel and Yadav got pumped! Not a great warm up for the bowlers so I hope the batsmen fare a bit better! I suppose it's better to get a bad performance out the way in the warm ups rather than the actual group stage or finals.
P.S. I like the Grubs logo :p
The Grubs selection board has announced a Playing XI for their 1st match against @Dutch at the Home of Cricket: Lord's.
They are also pleased to announce that a respected South African has been named as skipper for the tournament over a disgraced Aussie...
@wasteyouryouth now that you've announced your team do you want us to put in our starting XI's? Already got mine pencilled in, in agreeance with the Grubs selection board of course.
Was gonna go for Adelaide Oval because I'm originally from there, but it's already taken so I'll go for the Home of Cricket: Lord's, before it is already taken too. The Grubs have a home!
Great to see you're still doing this. Lovely work.
Looks like you're going strong at the top with a lot of big wins. The game against Glammy must've been exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. Sure you were glad to get away with that one. :p
Aaah you've gotta be kidding me, missed out by just one W$T. Unfortunately pace bowling stocks are not looking that great for the Grubs, quite a spin heavy attack.
Damn it, least I have plenty of cash still to spend on plenty of good players left in the 2nd round. My strategy might work a bit better next round as there will be less bids to contend with.
Gotta make sure I get Keaton as my skipper and opening partner to Warner!
Wonderful work @wasteyouryouth. Putting in a ton of effort as usual. Won about half the bids I've placed so far, with a few players I wasn't expecting to get the winning bid on so I'm fairly happy. Can't wait for the draft to resume, but for now you deserve a break after all the hard work you've...
Unfortunately my strategy was to bid as little over the base price as I could, so that I could afford to bid on a ridiculously stacked team. My hope was that other people would think they wouldn't have a chance to win and instead pass on bidding on my players, as was the case in the Warner and...
