Hall of Fame Voting Closed | PC Awards 2019 | Hall of Fame 2019

Assuming one person only needs to be nominated once, I'm gonna skip mentioning the ones already in the thread (except for some special mentions with personal touches). Here are some: @Burma's Finest (For some reason, I can't tag him) - His legendary bat-making for Cricket 07 (and perhaps before...

Where's the Best-Fossil-Because-The-Awards-Didn't-Run-When-They-Were-Alive award?! Or maybe the Shortest-Duration-Admin-Ever award?

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

Okay, all of those are feature requests (apart from one) and not bugs. :p I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do feature requests. Anyone who wants to try is welcome - the source is open. I can take a look at the ducks thing when I next look. The problem is that its also a simulation engine...

New text-based cricket simulation software help & advice.

Building something like that requires more than the simple decision tree/probablistic modelling I did in CS09 (and maybe sohum with PCCS, and the original CricSim). It'll probably require advanced techniques like Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence. I've wanted to build this advanced, close...

New text-based cricket simulation software help & advice.

I can't understand what you're trying to do here. How to do this depends on WHAT you want to do it for. What role will the team skill points play? A pool of points to assign to players? That way, you're going into "relative" rating of players in a sense. All the teams will overall have the same...

New text-based cricket simulation software help & advice.

In my opinion, server side is always better. That way, you hide your simulation logic and can make continual improvements without telling people about it. I feel one of the crucial parts about a simulation engine is that its exact algorithm is not known, otherwise people can start to learn to...

New text-based cricket simulation software help & advice.

Sorry, I missed that post for some reason. Go with any; though if people are putting their weight behind Python 3, might as well go with that.

New text-based cricket simulation software help & advice.

Great to see some interest in this, and people willing to learn! Okay, here are some random thoughts. 1. There are two parts to writing a cricket simulator. a. The programming b. The algorithm of simulation Both require different skill sets to perfect. I can share my algorithm for...

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

I'm willing to give another look at fixing CS15 with the number of bugs you people are encountering so you can start using it. Can someone around here please make a list of the current issues in CS15 (compared to CS09; that is, issues which weren't there in CS09)? I'll spend some time and fix...

[Round 9] Match 27 - The Demons v The Hugging Muffins

I made your job easier too, be a little thankful at least. Would you have wanted to sim all matches multiple times just waiting for the desired thing to happen? Imagine what it would do to the productivity of your business.

    Stats Calculator | Update 1.2.0

I just got a notification for this thread, read it all and am confused as hell. What is the use case being talked about here? From what I can understand, people who run cricket leagues want to know player stats. But the sims already give you player stats! If there's a bug in stats calculation...

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

Okay. Try compiling with Visual C++ Express, which should be free. It should have all those dependencies. When creating the project in VC++ Express, choose a "Win32 Console Application".

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

The last time I tried, it compiled with Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 successfully, I don't remember which. Will probably not compile on Linux and other systems since it uses Windows system calls. Indeed, it is horrible code, but I don't have the time to re-write it yet keep the logic intact.

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

Feel free. If you're a coder who's accustomed with Version control and collaboration (or if there's anyone else) I can create a GitHub project with the source and you can send any patches there. I'll be happy to merge them. Sorry, I haven't really had the time to fix the issues in CS15. I'm...

    Kshitiz's Cricket Sim 09 Discussion/Testing

4-5 ducks every match? :O Are these ducks from the lower order batsmen/tailenders or top batsmen? @User2010 - Does this happen in PCPL as well?

    [Round 2] Match 4 - The Demons v Landscape

This already happens. Some things of this sort do already happen as well. But like another person said, overdoing these things make everything too scripted. That being said, I am aware that the current sim model is far from perfect. If someone is good in such probabilistic mathematics and is...

If anyone is still having problems with the new builds I shared, try this one. This should fix it, and should also work with the previously made team files. Shout out to User2010 for all the testing and help! @Abhas - You lost another opportunity to make it in the, errm, backdoor list. You had...
