I'm running Cricket 2002 with the official patch applied, but am having trouble when I start up a test match - basically the game crashes and brings down the entire operating system (XP Pro) with a blue screen of death.
All other modes of play are fine, including net practice...
UPDATE: I found the problem wasn't just with Cricket 2002, but all games that I tried to run. I found that despite running DirectX 9.0 and the latest NVidia drivers, Direct3D still wasn't available - checked through Dxdiag.exe.
I installed XP Pro back on the notebook and everything worked out...
I desperately want Cricket 2002, but have to ensure that I can play it on my Toshiba notebook before buying it. I downloaded the demo version, but get no further than a flash of black as it (seems to) attempt to initialise the graphics adapter.
