Points: KKR 2, RR 0
Report: KKR won the toss and as they bowled first as they prefer to do, and it was a very good toss to win with the pitch not having much life in it. 3 quick wickets put pressure on RR early on but they recovered well to get past 50 for the loss of 3 wickets after 6 overs. They really lost their way from then being bowled for 87. Has to be said they were on the receiving end of a number of shocking umpiring decisions (glitches) in fact 4 of them which dented RR. On another day and with a bit more luck they could have got well past 3 figures which no team has yet managed to do against the KKR bowling attack.
When it came to defending the total, RR would have had to strike early to give themselves a chance, and they did just that, all be it through a run out glitch ending Uthappa's short stay. Ghambir and Pandey then began to consolidate and steadily move towards the modest target. RR picked up wickets every now and then to keep them in the hunt but in the end Ghambir's solid 31 from 30 saw them home with just under 10 overs to spare and 5 wickets in hand.
Still early days yet but KKR look set to cement their place in the top 4. Rajasthan Royals still have many more chances to get themselves on the winning track.
