After chosing to bat on a bowler-friendly pitch, Marshall Islands opener Patrick Katadrik grinded out 93 in his first match of the tournament. Paired with Patrick Bole's 63, it meant Marshall Islands finished with an imposing 242, by far their highest score of the tournament.
Chasing for the first time in the tournament, New Zealand had a shaky start after losing their openers but seemed to have it in the bag after a 50 from captain Michael Gottlieb. Vanuatu go unbeaten in the group stages and carry the momentum going into the final.
After their thrashing of Marshall Islands, Niue chose to bat first again. Mark Mansale struck early twice, but then Niue's Misikea Feleti steadied the innings through the middle overs. But Feleti eventually slowed down and left Niue in a bad position when he couldn't accelerate. In the end, Dalton Nemani continued his superhuman form with another 50 to take Niue to a respectable 260.
Vanuatu were all business, with their batsmen playing sensibly to build a platform. Luuk Kalotang and Tim Donald combined to make a hefty partnership, by the end of which more than half the total was chased. Although they had a brief middle order mini-collapse, Mansale eventually hit the winning runs off Sejan Talaiti to send Luganville into a frenzy for the second time in 3 days.
