28/7 – 3rd/4th PLAYOFF MATCH

It's 3rd v 4th... it's Dublin v Toronto. Both teams could of gone into the final on the last day of the season and all they had to do was win to but neither could manage the mammoth task. Dublin finished ahead of Toronto on Net Run Rate and won 5 of their 10 games. Although losing to Sydney in the last game, they were on a 3 game unbeaten run and they could of saved that for the final. Toronto on the other hand lost to the team that finished first in the league, Chennai Champions. They lost their last 4 games of the season and are in terrible form at the moment. The first time these teams met this year was when Toronto won by a miniscule one run. The second time though, Dublin got their revenge and won by a bigger margin of 7 wickets. With Dublin the only team in this match in form and finished 3rd ahead of Toronto by Net Run Rate then they are just slight favourites. Should be a close one.

Imagine the scene. 15 minutes before the deadline of Dublin Destroyers team could be posted with James Edmonds sitting on the edge of his seat, waiting intensely. 14 minutes now, the time getting so near. A knock at the door. There's no-one else in but James and he was told not to answer the door or answer the phone as his family had just gone on holiday to Iceland for 7 weeks. He made nothing of the knock. It knocked again, by this time James was getting concerned.

The phone then rang, eventually going to voicemail. There was no message. James by this time was getting creeped out. He heard a door slam upstairs! Was someone breaking in? Oh no wait, He remember he left the window open upstairs. 13 minutes now. Nearly there. A knock at the window this time, and it didn't stop knocking. The door started knocking again and didn't stop. James, whom was in his conservatory, was getting freaked out by now. He made his way to the door.

Just as he was walking to the door, the knocking stopped. He put his tight on the handle, loosely. He felt a cold presence from outside, but his mum was on holiday so it was probably just the weather. He tightened his grip on the handle and inserted the key. He turned the key all the way round. Nervously he opened the door.

"Daily Express Delivery!"

Thank god! He took the paper and gave the little boy 50p. Why would he knock on the window? Ah that doesn't matter now. He started to walk back to the computer after locking the door. He then heard a knock at the door once again. Didn't he give the boy enough money? He walked back to the door, put the key in and unlocked it. He turned the handle and opened the door quickly.

*5 minutes later*

He awoke in his chair, next to the computer. He wasn't gagged, he wasn't tied to the chair yet he wasn't where he was 5 minutes ago and he didn't have any recollection of what happened in the last 5 minutes. Strange. He turned the computer screen back on and surprisingly it had notepad open. He opened it up and it read:

"Dublin. Same team as two matches ago. Excellent Pitch. If you don't obey to this then the thing in your pocket will soon be yours."

He looked into his pocket and found what seemed to feel like slime and roundish. He pulled it out of his pocket... it was a heart! Who had just come? What had just happened?

Secondly, Simon scammed me out of $50k.

Third, its worded incorrectly.

Fourth, Jaz isn't even allowed to post the team!

Absolutely ridiculous.

And then Simon decides to take the mick out of the entire situation by demanding $50k or else he'll make Toronto play with a reverse lineup.

Which I paid.

I paid, so that the last match, for the Toronto Tanks (of this season), would be competitive enough. Whether I should submit to the blackmail is a different story. However, I did it, so that the team members wouldn't be upset that the playoff was thrown away because the owner wouldn't give $50k to Simbazz (why he wants it, I don't know).
