Delhi Capitals

I'm pretty happy with how DC fared in the auction, they were proactive and made a lot of smart decisions

1. :bat: Prithvi Shaw
2. :bat: David Warner :os:
3. :ar: Mitchell Marsh :os:
4. :wk: Rishabh Pant :c:
5. :wkb: KS Bharat
6. :ar: Mandeep Singh/ Ripal Patel/ Lalit Yadav
7. :ar: Axar Patel
8. :bwl: Shardul Thakur
9. :bwl: Anrich Nortje :os:
10. :bwl: Mustafizur Rahman / Lungi Ngidi :os:
11. :bwl: Kuldeep Yadav / Chetan Sakariya

Thats a pretty decent starting 11 tbh. There are good backups for every spot too.
Only thing left to do is actually win the tournament, we've done well for a few seasons now and falter away at the back end. If Pant fires this lineup looks much stronger

Capitals turning back to Daredevils mode with that color combo. :rolleyes

Ironic that its coinciding with David Warner's return to Delhi (he started off with Delhi Daredevils)

But I actually like their new jersey. It probably looks better than most other franchises, who are changing their jerseys in a significant way! RCB's is second!

Capitals looking strong this year. Apart from Pant, Warner, Thakur and Nortje would be the guys to watch out for. I feel they ought to qualify for the Playoffs, but need something special form then on to go all the way.

Second this. But still feel, the IPL should look at multiple jerseys(like they do in FIFA and ICC events now). Perhaps a home/away one might help.

RR in 2010 IPL & RCB during 2017-19 had this concept of home/away jersey. Also the Capitals themselves had one in 2020 IPL.

I think it's time that Delhi played Yash Dhull in the XI. He's the leading run-scorer in the most recent SMAT and has looked very good in the other two domestic tournaments as well. Seems to have a solid temperament and is scoring runs quickly which is always something that indicates a player is well tuned to the level they are playing at. He's also perfectly capable as either number three or four.

With how poor MMarsh has been recently I can see a logic in shifting him down the order to four or even five if Pant wants to continue at four.

Shaw
Warner
Dhull
MMarsh
Pant
Powell/domestic batter from the auction
Axar
Kuldeep
Khaleel
Sakariya/Fizz
Nortje

They should aim to buy someone proficient at spin hitting for when Marsh inevitably breaks down. Preferably someone who can bowl a over or two. Mitchell would be my choice, he'd be available cheaply and is a guaranteed performer under pressure. Just give him more backing than RR did and he'll pay you back.

DC should have let go of Mitch Marsh. The year of the CWC and I'd be surprised if the Aussies turn up at all. Some like Warner would still play. However, I do not expect Marsh to honor the commitment given how prone he is to breaking down.

Agree on the Yash Dhull point. DC still have a good lineup. To make it better, they might want to look at either of Ewin Lewis or even Jason Holder.

Letting go of someone preemptively sounds strange IMO. They'd probably find someone to cover Marsh's role in the auction and if he does pull out sign a replacement in the end.

The CWC being held in India is an attractive point that many cricketers will surely be considering along with their boards. The IPL provides them with plenty of money and an opportunity to get a lay of the land prior to a big tournament. Only problem is how long the IPL is starting to be these days.

I kind of liked the very first jerseys that the erstwhile Daredevils had. Over a period of time they moved to predominantly blue. Still feel that the IPL need to mandate home/away jerseys, like they do in FIFA and nowadays in the ICC events as well.
