5th Test: England vs Australia at the Brit Oval

This certainly will be a good test of Watson's technique as an opener. This pitch is looking like a minefield compared to yesterday.

I wish people would stop carrying on about not having a specialist spinner.

WE DONT HAVE A SHANE WARNE ANYMORE PEOPLE!

Australia have no spinners worth a spot in the team.

Odds for an lbw/bowled dismissal?

Hauritz proved earlier in the series that he's good enough to have a spot in the team tbf.

How many balls has Katich actually had to play so far? I'd say 1 or 2 out of 12. Not good enough really. If there's going to be variable bounce we need to bowl straight to make the most of it. Graham Onions anyone?

Amazing this pitch. Only day 2 and we're getting balls exploding through the pitch and the variable bounce.

Hauritz is definitely worth his spot in the team. Hauritz was equal leading taker IIRC after the 3rd test. I think he still has more wickets than Swann and Swann has played all 5 tests.

Watson has a lot of trouble with that straight ball. He just can't seem to hit it.

Yeah but by Australian standards thats not good enough. His wickets haven't been anything spectacular, just gimme ones. You cannot say that he actually bowled well... He just puts the ball there and somehow gets wickets now and again. Lee, Clark, Bollinger, even McDonald>Hauritz.

Watson should have been given there, the first one was high but that one was good.
Its taken England 2 Test but it seems they have finally found his weakness.

That was plumb. The first 2 decisions were spot on, there was doubt and hawkeye showed them going over by a mile, pretty convinced it can't be a foot off.

Rauf got that one badly wrong, hawkeye or not, that looks plumb any way you look at it. Time for technology.

I dunno, I thought it might have been going down legside a bit when I saw it live. Can understand why he didn't give it.
