A Handful of Suggestions.

Tbf It's quiet clear that alot of the younger members seem to think that a high post count bring a higher repuatation or amount of elitism. When it fact really, all a high post count tends to suggest is amount of time spent on a forums, which generally in social climbs isn't a good thing :P.

Aren't you stereotyping the younger members there though Animator! ?
He didn't say all of the younger members though did he. Very sadly, he's probably right when he says that some younger members think that a higher post count means higher supremacy.

Doesn't matter what they think as long as you are solid in your own beliefs, is what I think. ;) They'll eventually reach the maturity to decide for themselves the difference between quality and quantity. Everyone starts out like it. I was myself aghast at seeing some of the posts I made just last year!

That's actually what I thought when I first joined. My spam count was unbelievable.

I'm making this post so that I can add another post to my count, allowing me to get to the eliteness of PlanetCricket members :D

Anyway - I'm probably the youngest member on this forum (correct me if I'm wrong please) and to be honest, I have to disagree with the fact that we think more posts mean higher supremacy.

But I think we do think that higher posts mean a person has been around for a longer period of time, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're better to us young people :p

I wasn't saying you all do. It just generally tends to be the younger members. The newer members always seem to think that a higher post count means your "better" than those with a lower count that them.

To be honest mate, you've been here just over 1 month, your still a new member!

Yeah I know. But clearly I don't think people with a higher post count are better. By newer I meant people who are newer to forums as a whole, Sorry I should have specified.

Does post count even matter?! I know some forums where any of the posts are not even counted! It's the content of the post which matters, quality not quantity as I have said many times.

To Quote From John Lennon

Imagine there's no Moderators
It's easy if you try
No postcount below us
Above us only reps
Imagine all the members
Living for cricket

Imagine there's no spam
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to Neg rep for
And no Never ending topics forum too
Imagine all the members
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And planetcricket will be as one

Imagine no introduction thread
I wonder if you can
No need for usertitles
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the members
Sharing planetcricket

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And planetcricket will live as one

Sensational isnt it? Just imagine, then the suggestions will take care of themselves.

(winner of wierdest post of the year)

Your a visionary.
You'll also be a legend once one of the spammers has shot you outside a hotel room.

If my opinion counts for anything,I think that our forum's essense is Cricket, whether it be Cricketing Discussions or Cricket Gaming.Hence the majority of the members here come here for a Cricketing related experience.Everything else imo is secondary.Your suggestions may or may not be valid but I think it wouldnt change things either way dramatically.Whats core to the forum is geniune Cricket Related Discussion and members passionate about the game.

when i 1st came to the forums, (way back in aug 2004), i came primarily for fantasy cricket.
My 1st post came as late as 26th aug, 2005... an year after i had joined.

Still, just see my post count, and the reps i have also see the no of FC games i have played...

My posts are under 700, reps are over 1900, and FC games at the moment are 110...

I am mainly active in the computers and tech forum, as well as the Fantasy Cricket forum...
Other than that, sometimes, to have fun, i go to the Humour & Jokes thread..
believe me...I have hardly ever posted in the cricket stories thread. I am not interested, but looking at the popularity, i certainly feel other people enjoy these threads.
I have learnt to respect other people's views and likes and dislikes.

It would certainly be better and more mature of other users to respect others and enjoy the things they like, and ignore whatever they don't
