Sign-ups African Pro40 Championship VI - Grand Final Series - Match 2

The match was full of excitement as Manicaland Mountaineers put up a decent total. We had a hard time getting wickets as they put up a good score. The 2nd and 3rd wicket partnerships helped them to put up such a good score.

The pitch was slow in terms of scoring rate, but our batsmen made an effort to accelerate whenever needed and we were able to do so. It was a good chase.

We are delighted to be in the final of this tournament. We hope to win this tournament. :yes:

Another riveting game unfolded before us, with both teams showcasing their impressive abilities. Despite our valiant effort, we ultimately fell short of reaching the target. However, this initial setback will not dampen our spirits. Our determination remains unshaken as we strive to bounce back and secure victories. The cup is ours :p

Yes but, he performed better today. He provided solid support to S Eskinazi. They scored 70 in the 6th wicket partnership. It is encouraging to think that he would give it his all in the upcoming games. Still, he didn't demonstrate his true abilities. :yes:
 
Oh, my! Heart-stopping stuff! I for sure thought we had lost the plot when Higgins, our best bowler by a country mile, conceded 23 runs in his second-last over. Also had an inkling in the back of my mind that scoring just a single off the final over of our own innings may just do us in in the end, but somehow, it worked out for us. Nathan Gilchrist, of all people, delivered an exceptional final over under pressure to defend 17 runs. We just manage to hold on to the win, but what a win it was.

One more game. One more win. We HAVE to!

I am thinking about reducing the Grand Finals Series for the African Pro40 Championship from a Best of 5 to a Best of 3. (next season) It made sense to have a Best of 5 in the Zimbabwe Premier League because of the Champions League, however APro40C is a domestic league. :like:
