Bringing the most intense war between two of science-fiction’s most popular characters AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming.

In the all-new Aliens vs. Predator players will have the chance to take the role of the three infamous species; the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien. Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species ...

- As the Marine, you’ll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there’s never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity’s last line of defence, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.

- As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honour ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.

- As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.

Grab your mates and play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of multiplayer gaming’s defining moments.

Aliens Vs Predator PS3 - PlayStation 3 - GAME.co.uk

I've seen a game-play video of the Predator and both gameplay and graphics look superb. The Predator comes complete with cloak, weapons, ability to heal and can record any conversation from Marines and can play back to distract the Marines attention.

I haven't seen anything from the Marines or Aliens yet but I've heard little rumors that Aliens can spit acid, but we'll have to wait until more details are confirmed.

I like the idea of a three person online game with an Alien vs Predator vs Marine. I just wish that they would have a team deathmatch, which features multiples of each type.

Hopefully with a long wait, Rebellion will produce a masterpiece here.

Aliens, Predators and Marines all running around online!!!!

This is going to be special. :) :D :happy

It'll be fun playing as the Predator. You can basically toy with Marines using the cloak plasma caster!

I hope the campaigns are not too short. It seems to be an all too frequent occurance with games these days, especially FPS games.

AvP2 blew my mind back in the day, eating your way out of that guys stomach was just :O

Can't wait for this, as long as they stick to the same formula and dont reduce the difficulty to cater for the masses.

The original AvP was a masterpiece in single player. Long campaigns that were often difficult as all hell, in fact you had to run through them in one hit, making for an unusually intense and pure experience. Even now, the ten year old graphics are still a reasonable cop, but in often very gloomy settings, the theatrical quality sound was more key to the experience. Much like the original System Shock and Deus Ex, it's one of those games a lot of people never really played, but they should have.

The trouble with multiplayer AvP has always been the same thing; balancing. If xenomorph, predator and marine are all equally capable in a game, it's a kind of underwhelming experience. However, if you make one class great and give people the freedom to chose, they'll usually choose the good class. The game modes have to back up the class balance.

The multiplayer will be unbalanced as it should, you'd think. You would play as the marine if you wanted the most challenging experience, while playing as the Predator would probably be the better of the three.

I loved the bit where you had to run around as a baby alien and then find a host.
