The All*Stars T20 event heads off the Ashes at the Gabba on Nov 21. Instead of simply facing a squad representing the Australians, there's a twist. The ACA side has been selected in advance, now it is up to the fans to pick a team (led by TV cook and author, Matthew Hayden) to beat them. Easy, right?

ACA all*stars
Brad Hodge (c)
Chris Simpson (vc)
Shaun Marsh
David Warner
Kieron Pollard
Tim Paine (wk)
James Hopes
Dan Christian
Aaron Heal
John Hastings
Shaun Tait
Brad Knowles

The All*Stars team packs some of the best performers from last summer's Big Bash. There are a couple of classy batsmen and some big hitters, as well as many all-round options. However, a few changes will have to be made. Brad Knowles is now out for the season. It also seems unlikely that Tait will play at this stage following elbow surgery, so the team is very light on pace.

Can the Aussie Fans' XI highlight the hidden (and not-so-hidden) talents, or do the real selectors know better?

Fans' XI to be chosen from (excluding players selected for the 1st Test on Nov 25):

BATSMEN
George Bailey
Travis Birt

If you read down this far, then you guessed it! It's a choose your own XI participation thread! Select a side featuring Hayden and
* 5 batsmen, keepers or all-rounders
* 1 wicket keeper
* 1 all-rounder
* 1 all-rounder or bowler
* 3 bowlers
Just remember:

Originally the fans 11 also has Doherty and Smith. Finch and O'Keefe benefited from those two being called up to Australia. Nice to see the fans voted Finch into the side.

Well Finch got there eventually :) One list they showed had Finch as the 12th man, and he really needs to be with all the batsmen in that side. Can't remember who the guy that's not in your list is though :facepalm Presumably a bowler...

It could be an interesting match. I'm sure Brad Hodge will want to get as many runs as possible.

Nathan Rimmington's the guy I was thinking of. And I'm not sure if Steve O'Keefe's going to play. Rimmington either replaces SOK, or one of those MANY batsmen would be made 12th man.

Who says the fans know best? That side has awful balance...:p

I heard on MMM last night that Hastings was injured somehow, iirc a severe calf injury? But I haven't heard anything about it, can anyone confirm/deny this?
