Ideally Alex Hales will give us the start we always wanted, positive brand of cricket kinda start. However that would mean we cannot play Southee and Cummins together as I think we Nabi might play all games.

3. Nitish Rana
4. Shreyas Iyer
5. Dre Russ
6. Sheldon Jackson
7. Shivam Mavi
8. Pat Cummins
9. Tim Southee
10. Umesh Yadav
11. Varun C

However KKR is obsessed with Narine and if Dre Russ is fit, they could fit him for Southee or Cummins.

It depends on where IPL will be. If international cricket can happen all around, I do not see why they cannot just open IPL to be home and away. Nabi might play at Edens, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi. Might not play at Mumbai, Gujarat, Lucknow, Punjab, Rajasthan.

So it all depends where they decide to host the IPL.

Umesh is the one where I'm not sure, you could easily get another batter in the top order. Rahane if they want a pinch blocker or one of the lesser known names. Rinku has a decent T20 strike rate but he never seems to get a chance in IPL. Anukul Roy has a good strike rate and scores as many sixes as fours. It'd be quite a fluid middle order then and he's another bowling option.

Indrajith seems like a strange pick (104.59 strike rate), so I'm assuming he won't be picked ahead of Jackson. Billings would be great but that's one more overseas spot you don't have and I think they are unlikely to play him ahead of Hales, at first, if they go with an overseas batter.

Shreyas is officially the captain now!

I think this was expected given that they got him in the auction. Hopefully, he can do a Gautam Gambhir with him and lead them to a couple of titles.

I also really liked DK (both as player & as Captain). But never felt like supporting KKR even during the 2018-21 period.

I feel like Shreyas Iyer going to KKR won't make a difference to you in the long run. I hope it's not the case but this is from my personal experience of DK-era.

Nah, supporting is some next level thing, I don't wanna see Shreyas lose, tbh. I still want them to struggle but a soft corner for the guy... Can't really say what to do.
