An all time XI for each decade

Onto the 1930s, a bit of a golden age for cricket in all its traditional glory...but limited to mainly just Eng and Aus, with a spattering of SA, WI and India.

1930s XI:

1. Len Hutton :bat: :eng:
2. Bert Sutcliffe :bat::eng:
3. Don Bradman :bat::aus:
4. Wally Hammond :bat::eng:
5. George Headley :bat::wi:
6. Stan McCabe :bat::aus:
7. Les Ames :wkb::eng:
8. Clarrie Grimmet :bwl::aus:
9. Hedley Verity :bwl::eng:
10. Harold Larwood :bwl::eng:
11. Bill Voce :bwl::eng:

I had to have Larwood, who was nearing the end but was too good to pass up in an age where there weren't exactly that many truly top class fats bowlers. Two spinners tell you the story of the time.

Onto the 1920s then...Roaring!

1920s XI:

1. Bert Sutcliffe :bat::eng:
2. Jack Hobbs :bat::eng:
3. Charles Macartney :bat::aus:
4. Frank Wooley :bat::eng:
5. Patsy Hendren :bat::eng:
6. Herbie Collins :bat::aus:
7. Jack Gregory :ar::aus:
8. Warwick Armstrong :c::ar::aus:
9. Bert Strudwick :wk::eng:
10. Arthur Mailey :bwl::aus:
11. Maurice Tate :bwl::eng:

No Bradman or Hammond due to not meeting min criteria of 10 tests.
Armstrong included even though he had just 1 series, he was an Aussie icon already, a great captain and a decent enough bet.
