Who'll be the 2nd one?

I reckon on a ridulously flat pitch and a small ground, Yuvi and Viru could do it easily.

With the boundary ropes being brought in closer everyday and the batting paradises we see everyday, I'm surprised no one has done it. They all tend to choke just going past Anwar's record much less 200.

Increasingly doable with the current fronts of the game. A batting paradise, a good dimensioned ground, attacking players and luck can make it happen. Certainly if you ask someone if it can happen 5 years ago, you'd get a response that it can happen, only if a miracle took place. But now, nuts. Once anyone gets to 200 or create enough enthusiasm in players to get the milestone by near or record-breaking performances, if they get, then people would further their views to more levels saying even more players can get to 200. But common sensibly speaking, it takes hell of skilled players to achieve that milestone.

Voted aus, matter of pride people!

But, as mentioned above with the grounds getting smaller and if the recent nz/ind matches are anything to go by, i'm backing one of the indian top 5 batsmen to do it first. Gayle and Kevin P can do it given the right conditions.

Brendon McCullum will do it, on one of those flat pitches in NZ with ridiculously small boundaries. He's made a massive OD score in domestic cricket, and is due one in an ODi, my bets would be placed with McCullum.

I think you are right on the money with this one, he has the best chance because of the number of small grounds he gets to play on and with the great batting surfaces we have been producing lately I think he would have the best chance of doing it.

I thought Tendulkar had a chance. Though he had to go off for injury. I wouldn't have bet against it but I still don't think we would have made it (probably getting caught at some point or not seeing enough balls).

Yeah, And although there was still 5 overs left, There was no guarantee that he would be getting the bulk of the balls...

And McCullum was 3/4 of the way to a 200 but in a 20/20 game

Tons of players have got close to it but everyone chokes when they get close to it. Gibbs had the best chance of any. He had 20 overs to get 25 runs! He could have made 300 the rate he was going.

It's really just a mental barrier thing, once someone goes over 200 then the flood gates will open. Our best hope of getting it have left in Hayden and Gilly. Ponting is our best hope now but he would have to be in one of those moods.

My shout would be McCullum, or 2005 Kevin Pietersen.

McCullum has that instinct to smack anything. KP had it, but thankfully, has lost that dangerous edge.

I think 200 is more doable now than what Anwar did years ago. 200 does take skill but it also takes a man (or woman....) with considerable selfishness to go out and hit like that.

Openers have the best chance, 50 overs, 200 runs. 4-runs per over. Very doable.
