Are we losing active member? Your thoughts

Hi,
As the thread title says, we can discuss the current situation of the site and how well we can improve.

My thoughts:
When I joined this site we had a good set of active members back then in 2014. According to what I've seen so far, we are losing a set of active members every year. Some of the active users currently might understand what I'm trying to say.

It is like, join -> post for a year -> leave.

What are your thoughts regarding this?

I have been here for about a year and a half, but inactive for about the first six months. So basically the year I have been on this site, I have heard there have been cool guys around like Aravind and Dipak and IceAgeComing who sadly have been inactive.
But I do agree with you, we got members who come for a day, lay off for 2 weeks to a month and come back. Now we have just lost @CerealKiller . There certainly a lot of people who have come and go a lot.

I think we are not getting new active players. Members leave all the time but we found their replacements.

It's called life. Usually, the members who are active are teens who either attend school or college. That gives them plenty of spare time at hand. As soon as they graduate and get a job, they come to the terms that real world takes priority over the virtual one. So a fraction of them still manage to squeeze in some time while the others simply move on.

As soon as they graduate and get a job, they come to the terms that real world takes priority over the virtual one. So a fraction of them still manage to squeeze in some time while the others simply move on.

Being honest there are only a few people on here who engage with me I'm beginning to think there is more to life or the internet than here, permission to speak freely... ?
I'll wait but, one question, are all the males on here to scared to engage with me or is it because they truly don't want to. A large chunk of what I receive is married men PMing me with good conversation. Last weekend was an exception but didn't see loads of people jumping to my defence. If you want to know how much it hurt then ask or work it out.

Being fair it is like a golf club were I'm feeling I am not allowed to play during the week and only on a Saturday morning but that is generally because I'm alone and there just aren't many females on this site... Why is that? The rise in female interest in cricket has grown and it is a very cosmopolitan sport so much diversity. This site isn't. I'm not a radical feminist or a shy withering hands in the sink girl. Would love to here from many people and feel we should all branch out and talk with each other, would be nice.

I dont see a user as female or male. If their posts are interesting or worthwhile or engaging I engage with them. The fact that you imo continually overplay the gender card is a strong reason why I tend to ignore you.

In my defence I tend to hang around other threads and 'we' tend to use this forum for different things. I do get a lot of PM's and tend to get asked certain questions alot. The gender card is sometimes banter. I have written before where it is hard to play down gender when you are the only one. I have also confessed to being an attention seeking creature. Stating I am married, as last weekend being an example of attention I don't want, deters conversations I need not. And we are talking deep psychological mind screw stuff.
