Ashes Cricket 2009 Magic Moments.

AC 09 has the potential to be the best cricket game ever. It would b the PES of cricket. Here are some magic moments from the demo :

1) Graeme Swann on strike. England need 3 runs of last ball to win. Brett lee runs in bowls a 95 MPH Yorker. Swann steps out to play a loft shot, gets a inside edge which goes between him and leg stump. Haddin dives full length to his left but coudnt reach the ball and ball reached the third man boundary. I was shellshocked . Couldnt believe my eyes. I had seen a moment which is so reminiscent of classic finishes in ODI matches

2)Strauss was batting. Mitchell Johnson bowls a fullish inswinger outside off stump. Strauss goes for a cover drive, gets a inside edged on to the toe of his left foot and then ball hits the stumps... Great collision detection by the game engine. So no more those balls going through pads in cricket games.

3) Missed a inswinger from Siddle and got a hit on the pads. Siddle appeals, Umpire waited for good 10 seconds and then took his hand out of his pocket, when his hand was near his belly while he was raising it, he looks down to see what time is it. Absolute classic. Great suspense. Sometime umpire would take similar time and raise his hand slowly to give out. Transmission Games knows how to create a cricket game and its atmosphere.

This one had to be the best of all. Monty caught a blinder running 15 yards at deep square leg and diving full length.:rtfl:rtfl:rtfl

Well, I only played one game at my mates, but I guess it was either me last ball trying to loft one straight back over the bowlers head, i missed-timed it slightly and it did'nt go as far and headed in the direction of mid-off, where an Aussy fielder made an absoloutely stunning catch. Awesomes.

Or, I couldn't take a wicket with the seamers, so I brought Swann, bowled him over the wicket at the left hander, turned landed this one in the rough, it spun and bounced a bit more, got the top edge and I had about one quarter of a second reaction time to press A at the green and catch it. I failed. But still. Awesomes.

Mitch bowled a fullish delivery on middle stump to me. I defended it back to him with an advancing defense. I had not yet returned to the crease so Mitch took a shy at the stumps, Haddin dove but missed and the ball went for overthrows! That just felt like cricket

This moment of mine is something ive never seen in a cricket game so its absolutely phenomenal.
Strauss goes for a lofted shot straight down the ground on a Mitchell Johnson ball, Ball doesnt connect properly and hits Alastair Cook standing at the non strikers end, therefore making fielding a whole lot easier

(By the way i read here that people are using Brett Lee, is he only available in the PC version? )

I mistimed a lofted shot and the ball landed in no mans land.... Two Aussies came near to the ball and started completed circles around the ball.... It was looking real funny....

Tell us your Most MAGIC moments - online and off....

Personally, I have had only 9 games online and only three completed (most quit, but just warn them by message first you will report and helps a lot - and when it is on, it is great)...

Took on a guy who might be here even, he had sri lanka and I had NZ - it would be my one and only completed 20/20 game and can be verifed on the ladder....

no connection problems prior to that, just cheezers and quitters - full stop. Got adsl etc etc.....

Anyway, he smashed me to all corners with Sri Lanka and scored 110 for none of the first six overs... but I am a kiwi and a gamer, and he was a one trick pony (addicted to leg side).... so I adapted, restricted him to 243 for 3 off the 20 overs - with 143 from Jayasuriya..... he was laughing all the way to the bank even more so when I was 20/4 and 42/5..... but at 245/8 with 9 balls to spare - he wasn't laughing anymore....

It was my single greatest (so far) online gaming moment for any game (only played boxing otherwise though admittedly).... Guptill 94 off 40 and Oram with a quick fire 60-odd driving me to victory, as well as O'Brien's hilariously sedate 30* after I took him to the cleaners thru the middle overs and only needed singles... Dude, learn how to bowl and how to bat the full arc you cheesing loser. You better be top 5 in the game to beat me pal.... lol.... and even that is no guarantee....

Offline I took five bowleds (clean) by Vettori (including a hatrick and 6/44 final bowling figures for the innings).... I got the first when bowled Ponting's middle stump (no edge or any crap) for a golden duck (God's honest truth), Clarke for a duck and then grabbled the actual hatrick much later.... but, yes, five bowleds in the one innings with NZ against OZ!!

Ouch, I am hurting my own back.... but no apologies, best to call it how it is in a forum and also to make this thread about people soaking up the glory - that is what it is for after all...

Best achievements? Crazy moments? Unbelievable chases etc etc??

I admit for example to only having got lbw shouts so far, no actual dismissal by this method.... but had 10+ bowleds.... So I am not God...

Funniest/almost awesome moment? Being plum lbw with my created player in his second test for 99.... aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh...... four tests later, it is still his top score, rats, but averaging about 30-odd (like most kiwi batsman!!!!)... which alright for all-rounder I su - ppose.... grrrr

Okay..... so, five bowleds in an innings offline (Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, Watson and Lee)... and chased 243 online (is there on the table next to my psn: chunnster) in debut completed 20/20..... and now 3/3 online..... so, add me if not a quitting loser (you can york whole time but will get smashed if you do, haha)... and bring it mofos!! lol...

NB - anyone else notice that the averages for totals are stuffed online, so the more you play, the more it appears you are not as good as you actually are..... codemasters, please stop letting the crack-smoking monkey write the online ladder code - it is appalling. Fix it. Now.

Ashes at Lords Day 4. England required 270 for victory...I was about 110/6 with most of my batsmen not even reaching double figures. I was already 1-0 down in the series and couldn't afford to lose. Australia had me on the ropes with 246/9 with Monty Panesar [0*] and Matt Prior [93*]

...Marcus North had figures of [6-54] and was constantly removing batsmen, at the other end was Brett Lee [1-19].

I was blocking North and hoping to get the runs from the paceman at the other end. It got down to 3 to win when Prior notched up his century, then came a No Ball. 1 to win, Panesar facing North. North bowled it - edged to slip - Ricky Ponting drops a dolly and Prior dives in for a 1 wicket victory :banana2

Offline - india need ** runs to win (could be 17, it was under 20) i bring on mascaranus (dunno bout spelling) they got a 6 then a 2 then they hit a 4 ,last 3 of his bowls were wickets, i got the hat-rick trophy and won the game

Online - It is last over, I need 19 from 7 balls i hit a 6 and he bowls a no ball so it is now 12 from 6 balls and then i get it to 1 from 3, and i won the game me 2nd win online (played 6 won 3 and had been quit on 3 times) like got 91 with pakistan and yonus khan gets 50 i bowl him in a hat-rick then he quits

I think its like a glitch or something, But I'm bowling to West Indies, I had Chris Gayle caught out, Chanderpaul came in and first ball, as Anderson went past the stumps, his leg caught the stump at the bowlers end...Anderson still bowled the ball tho and Chanderpaul didn't play a shot and got bowled

I've done it before, but it never bowled them as I was looking for an outside edge.
