Hello everyone and welcome to Hobart where England have landed in Australia for their Ashes tour. England today will face the Priminsters XI in practice for their Ashes clash with the Australian side in a coouple of months time. The Australian squad will bring in players throughout these "practice" games to keep their players fit, in-order to take on the Barmy Army.

It is another year of excitment and joy for the players, and what shall be a cracking Ashes Series. Australia demolished England in the last Ashes class where Australia won all of the meetings between the two sides, so hopefully for England fans, they will see a little bit of a fight between the two sides this time around, but for the Aussies, they will be hoping for a re-take from last year.
All in all, we are in for a incredible summer of cricket, and you will only see it here on 9.

So welcome to Hobart everybody i am Mark Nicholas and joining me in the commentary box is cricketing legend, Richie Beanu. Welcome Richie.

Richie: Thanks Mark, it's great to be down here in Hobart, and it's good to see the crowd starting to fill the stands already.

Mark: Certainly, anyway, let's just take a look at some highlights here of the previous Ashes Serries between these two sides, what things stand out to you Rich?

Richie: Of course it's just the pure talent the Aussies have over the England side. I mean sure they certainly have some good names, if you think of Flintoff, Pietersen, Harmison, they will all do well for the Poms, but there no match for Ponting, Hussey or Hayden.

Mark: This is a B-Grade Aussie line-up out there today, what do you make of the team?

Richie: Well if you have a look, you have Phil Jaques opening the batting, he is certainly going to be pushing for selection come the Ashes Match, Cameron White the Captain of this side out their today, he is another who will be pushing for selction.
Shaun Tait who right behind Brett Lee is knocking on the door for his spot, one bad move by Lee may see Tait come into the line-up. Ben Hilfenhaus is another up and coming speed bowler.. so it will be hard for the selectors to choose which player is ready to step up to the challenge against this England squad.

Richie: This England squad is probably the team they will most likely play against the Aussies in a couple of months time. All their good players are playing, with Read and Strauss opening. Their captain Michael Vaughan, to Pietersen and then to Harmison as their opening bowler. This England squad looks determined to put some pressure on the Aussies after last time they met, when the Aussies humiliated the Poms back to England.
I am looking forward to this contest between the English and our Priminster XI

So the toss is happening here, and it seems that England have won the toss, and Michael Vaughan has decided to bowl first. A interesting decision, as the pitch is very dry and will begin to crack at the duration of play. Intersting certainly by the England Captain.
So it will be a interesting contest their is no doubt about that i am tipping it will be a close game, but England should get on top here, it is just a practice match if you would like to call it that, and they should be ready for anything the Aussies throw at them. So let's get underway here at Hobart. Ready for the first ball.

So here is ladies and gentlemen the start of the one day match. Priminster XI vs England here at Hobart. Is is the England quick bowler in Stephen Harmison who will kick things off here for England, as he approaches to face Phil Jaques the opening batsmen.
Harmison who made his debut in 2002 in Nottingham when England took on India has made good progress over his career.

His partner in the bowling department of this match is Matthew Hoggard. The swing bowler will be looking to disguise his bowling technique, and surprise the Aussie batsmen when he can really get going and get use to this conditions. By the way the weather is perfect. In the mid 20's, and a wonderful day to play cricket, as we mentioned the pitch will crack throughout the afternoon, so this is the time for Harmison and Hoggard to produce the goods.

They will be facing the two opening batsmen from Australia. Phil Jaques is at one end and up the other end is T. Paine. This is a good combination, and the combination of right and left handed batsmen will try and rattle the England bowlers who will try their technique against different type of batsmen.

All in all, it looks set to be a cracker of a contest here at Hobart, so hope you will stay tuned, and be ready for the opening bowl of the game.
