End OF Season Analysis:
Mark Cosgrove (4.5/5): The best player this season for us, Cosgrove consistently got us good starts scoring 50s every other game. Ended this season with an average a touch under 50 and was by far the Panthers biggest success story this season.
Adam Voges (3.5/5):After a strong first season, Voges continued his good form, but left very high hopes after the first season. He failed to better his first season but still managed to end with an average just under 40.
Umar Akmal (3.5/5): Another player who had a strong season, Akmal made some vital contributions but never really converted his good looking starts into something substantail.
MS Dhoni: (4/5) After a horrendous start to this season, where Dhoni's place in the side was under doubt, Dhoni came back superbly in the second half and nearly engineered a fantastic comeback to both his and the Panthers' campaign.
Craig Philipson (1.5/5): Should be renamed as Failipson. Never really looked comfortable anywhere he batted and after two poor seasons was rightfully discarded
Mike Hussey (4/5): Mike Hussey finally lived upto the Panthers' expectations this season. Coming @ 6 Hussey played some vital knocks that put the opponents in uncomfortable positions, but however he lost his knack of finsihing the game.
Jason Floros (3/5): Was never really expected to shock us this season, but Floros did hold his own playing a match-winning knock with the batting delaying the Stallions and keeping our hopes alive. Some fans consider his horrible spell in the last round game to be the reason that Perth were denied a place in the finals.
Kyle Mills (3/5): Never really was a match winning bowler, but in a bowling attack that was leaking runs at over 5 with ease, Mills provided some sort of consistency to the bowling this season. Would like to improve his wicket-taking skills in the coming season.
Muttiah Muralitharan (4.5/5): The best bowler by far for the Panthers in Season 2. Consistently took wickets and looked the only bowler in our lineup capable of giving his opponents sleepless nights. Would like to improve his ER.
Nathan Bracken (3.5/5): Never really lived up to the hype he created in season 1, Bracken being the lead Aussie bowler failed to live upto his heights and never got going for Panthers. Found some form late in the season, but it seemed too late then.
Angelo Mathews (2.5/5): Not really given enough chances this season but at the same time he failed to capitalize on them. The injury to Mills should have opened the door for him, but he didnt use this opportuinity.
Luke Butterworth (3/5): Wicket taking bowler but he couldnt really hold down the ER and was regularly clobbered. Plus as the side's allrounder he failed to do the batting part of his job and finished a batting average that would insult even Courtney Walsh.
Nathan Rimmington (3/5) As a first change bowler, Rimmington did an ordinary job, but he did get some beating on some excellent tracks.
MVP: Muttiah Muralitharan and Mark Cosgrove
