Australian Premier League XIII

I'm surprised you're keeping McCullum but then none of your international players are any good to be honest.

I'm keeping Hodge and Morgan. Gayle and Sarwan both scored more runs than Morgan but I see Morgan's wicket-keeping as more important than the extra runs and Gayle's bowling (which Hodge provides anyway)

Dam, what a game for three out of my top five to fail in.
Dighton's innings gave us some hope, but as usual our bowlers were the major let down, especially Tait.

We were outside the top six for all bar the final two rounds, so considering for most of the season we were playing way below our potential second place more is more than satisfactory for me.

Lol at Watson in the all-stars game.

I'll post my two players tomorrow, I'll have to sleep on who to keep.
I'm thinking Sanga and Watson, but not 100%.

Out of my main team, only two of my bowlers had an E/R of under five, that was our main problem.
My top eight's batting averages went as follows; 43, 49, 47, 58, 50, 33, 53, 35.

Cheers Biggy for another great season, it had its ups and downs for me, but in the end we ended on a high which is always good.

+Making the finals for the first time in four seasons
+The middle order batsmen, at least one would always get a high score
+The opening partnership of Tendulkar & Paine which averaged an amazing 76.16

-The ability to lose games in a match-winning position
-The bowlers just couldn't get enough wickets
-Ben Hilfenhaus been a fail

Tim Paine- 10/10

Paine had a blinder of a year, averaging above 50 runs at an impressive strike rate of 84. He was as reliable as ever opening the batting and you knew that he'd get us off to a good start. The Heroes have announced that he would be one of the two players staying at the club for next season.

Sachin Tendulkar- 10/10

The captain of the Heroes just keeps on proving that they do call him God for a reason. Himself and Paine were what bowlers feared as he averaged above 50 as well, including 7 fifties. Unfortunately he hasn't yet reached that elusive century that he aims to get, but he'll get another crack next season. The critics try and get something on Tendulkar, but he simply gives them nothing to say.

Andrew Strauss- 6/10

He had an up and down year this season. Was unable to play in his usual opening role so he usually had to adjust down the order, which resulted in him losing form and getting dropped. But late in the season he got his chance again and performed brilliantly to end up with the highest average for the team.

Mitchell Marsh- 8/10

Had a really good season with the Heroes, coping well with him lower order role. He didn?t have many chances to have a real go at an innings, and often finding himself coming in with only a few overs left. None the lest, he did the Michael Bevan role quite well and consistently. He ended up with an average of 45 after all his not outs. His strike rate was also what was really needed.

Martin Guptill- 8/10

Guptill took his chances to stay in the playing XI. In what many would have predicted that Strauss would be stopping Guptill from playing, but after Strauss? bad run at the start of the year, Guptill got a go and never looked back. He averaged over 50 and always kept the runs flowing after the opening combo.
Ed Cowan- 5/10

Unfortunately, after a bright start, Cowan just couldn?t get going. His poor average of 28 and at a strike rate of 68 showed that Cowan did struggle quite a lot when he couldn?t open. He did get plenty of chances to redeem himself, but eventually patience worn thing and he was dropped.

Brady Jones- DNP

Craig Phillipson- 4/10

Only got the two matches, scoring 20 in both before making way for others. Would be anger at the selection panel for not getting another go.

Luke Butterworth- 6/10

Butterworth had a strange season. He?d call himself a bowling all-rounder, but this season he was very much a batting allrounder. His batting was superb down the order when he was finishing off innings, but unfortunately his bowling was well below average as he could only manage 5 wickets for the season.

Abdul Razzaq- 3/10

Only played the three matches after been absolutely smacked around the park. Should have done more for the Heroes, who would be disappointed with him.

Brendan Drew- 4/10

Didn?t take his opportunities which saw him quickly dropped for the side

Fidel Edwards- 3/10

Edwards?s economy rate was really, really high and was costing Hobart too many runs so he was out-favoured to Finn.

Steven Finn- 5/10

Pretty average season for an International player. He did go okay, but okay wasn?t good enough. He did have the talent, but was a bit wayward.

Ben Hilfenhaus- 5/10

A pretty bad season for the Heroes opening bowler. He was lacking that venom and couldn?t get an early breakthrough. He?d be looking to improve somewhat next season, that is, if he?s with Hobart.

Rana Naved-Ul-Hasan- 7/10

A pretty decent season for the leading wicket taker for the Heroes. Nothing too extraordinary, but he did his job well and provided a few handy breakthroughs. He had a good average of 35.4, but once again, it was only a good season for the Pakistani quick.

Mitchell Starc- 6/10

Only played the two games, but did perform well by picking up three wickets. Some of the supporters were saying that the kid should have been played more.

Xavier Doherty- 7/10

Hobart?s premier spinner had a reasonable season with the ball. He managed to play every single match and never got out of touch. He wouldn?t be too happy though with his in-ability to stop the runs. But 15 wickets @ 35.6 isn?t that bad of stats.

Aaron Heal- 6/10

Many fans were annoyed at how much game time Heal got. He wasn?t really in the plans to play, unless Doherty got injured, but it?s fair to say that he did do alright. He started off well, but unfortunately just couldn?t get a wicket.

More like McDuddum.

@ Hedger: You have to pick 1 local and 1 overseas so Kallis and George are fine. George was on the brink of playing the all-stars game.

Congos Akshay!

Well, I'll keep Sehwag and Marsh.

Might try to target a class bowler this time. Bar Botha, our bowling attack has been a complete failure.

Yes,i reluctantly changed the name after i literally untited all the Bushrangers. :p
This is a better version of the Mayhem logo used in the 3rd season (all credit to Gazza) but the size is 200 x 200 pixels.Hope you can fix that Biggy as i have no idea how its done. :D
