Australia want their next home series to go back to being six tests, so that each major ground in the country can have one, or at least one for each state.

Seems a strange suggestion to me with Cricket always having a hectic schedule anyway. I can't wait until it's officially asked for though. I can't wait for the 2014 Ashes series in England to have 18 Tests, so that each County in our Country can have a Test. :D

Should be a hell of lot closer come the next time the Ashes are here so it could work. Problem will come if it isn't that close then after 3 wins assuming the Ashes holders are up that much then the Ashes are already won and the next 3 tests are pointless.

So we can just have a year long Ashes series? But you wouldn't want to see England being embarassed 18-0 would you? :D Plus won't the Ashes be played in 2013 and not 2014.

Do I really need to explain when I'm not being entirely serious?

I'd rather watch 6 six tests than a stupidly large amount of one day games tagged on the end of a series. Who needs 3 finals for one thing! Cut out stupid things like that and you can fit another test in easy.

6 Tests seems like way too much and if it does come to 3-0 in 3 test situation. It certainly will make the rest of the series pretty useless besides some practice.

I prefer it the way it is. I like a lot of one dayers. We only have 1 one day tournament a year not like most other countries who play 5 one dayers everytime a new team arrives.

Why wouldn't you play three finals to get the best team, it's a waste of time playing 6 qualifying games if you're going to have the result decided by a one off match. It only usually takes us 2 anyway, the third one doesn't get played unless it's needed

Most sporting competitions are decided by one final why does this need to be any different?

The very word itself suggests there should be only one.

Every Ashes should be 5 Tests and 3 ODI's. Why are we wasting our time playing so many bloody pointless ODI's? I wouldn't mind having 6 Tests just as long as the ODI count is reduced.

Yes, way to many. Round robin of each team versing each other 3 times and then a 3 match final.

6 Ashes with a reduced ODI wouldn't be such a bad option.

Do I need to do the same?
I meant the bit about how I hadn't been bothered to research the year that the series would take place.

Does seem strange, as English grounds have to fight it out to get such a big test match.

I would however much rather see 6 tests and a maxium of 4 Odis and a single final if it's a tri-series. I hope that they are only playing so many because the world cup is coming up and they want one big warmup for it.
