Batting Problems

Hi All,

I can't seem to get the timing right for Batting. It works in the nets but when I play a match it just doesn't work. I can't play the ball along the ground and score runs or I can just play it straight down the ground and get maybe 1 run. It just goes to a fielder. Playing this on the xbox. I press the direction and the forward button and it just goes to the fielder. Can someone please post a how to guide for the various shots and how to time them. Playing medium level. Is there any way to hit the ball along the ground to the offside, leg side etc and score runs. Thx

Its all timing mate and only trying to hit the balls for six or four that you can manage to hit. Its no use hitting and hoping.

Also lots and lots of practice, experiment in matches just autoplaying the bowling and just trying to master the batting and learning what areas you can get sixes from.

Also if the bowler is constantly bowling a good length then use the advance button (not with the 6 hit button). I've found that by advancing down the crease and timing the shot correctly, I can knock balls through the infield.

I have found the nets near usless as they seem to be quiet different from the actual playing conditions. I try to work the ball around for ones and the wait for the short one to hook or pull. Anything straight (on middle or leg) look to work through mid wicket or play late and whip it down to fine leg. Hope this helps you, it does the trick for me on hard mode on pc.
