You cant compromise with the security of people which will be at stake. Cricketers (especially Indian and subcontinental cricketers) are high profile people and hitting them will create a scene in the entire world. If information about their whereabouts are known well in advance to the WADA and it somehow leaks out (whats the guarantee it wont?), then these guys could be in danger. Its just too much of a risk to take. Fair and honest competition is all good, but WADA could do something without this clause, but they are hell bent on not doing it.
I agree, safety is the primary concern for cricketers now after Lahore. However there is always room for compromise. Just depends how much the BCCI/ICC and WADA are willing to compromise. There are many high profile atheltes in many troubled countries, think of all the soccer stars in South America.
No one is against drug tests, no one is against safety. We are all on the same side in this argument, now just need to find a way to make it work.
