Who do u think are the best commentators in world cricket ?
List ur top 10
My top 10
1.) Mark Nicholas - great voice and very unbiased
2.) Ian Chappel
3.) Richie Benaud
4.) Harsha Bhogle
5.) David Gower
6.) T.Greg - - just for the excitement he brings
7.) G.Boycott
8.) B.Lawry ------- So wonderfully biased
9.) Ravi Shastri --- Whenever he is on air , wickets tend to fall
10.) Robin Jackman

THE WORST

1.) Vinod Kambli
2.) Bob Willis (BOOORRIINNG)
3.) Venkatesh Prasad
4.) K.Srikkanth
5.) Asif Iqbal/Ranjit Fernando
6.) Sky NZ comm team (most of them)
7.)Waqar Younis
8.)Athar Ali Khan (The BANLADESH fellow)

My favorite commentator was Navjot Singh Sidhu--even though he didn't talk sense a lot of the time, he was able to entertain the audience listening. If you look at it, commentating is hardly a job if you are simply reiterating what is taking place on TV. Unless you are a radio commentator. That is the difference between a good and a mediocre commentator - the ability to engage the listeners.

Harsha Bhogle and most of the ESPN team is pretty decent, especially on the good tours. A Bangladesh tour will obviously not feature the biggest names.

In any case, Richie is better than Ian and Bill is better than Tony. Richie is teh l33t CommentatX0r.
Perhaps they could be given a rating for different qualities, like trivial knowledge, arm chair captaincy, elocution and entertainment value.

My Favorites are 1) Geoffrey Boycott
2) Robin Jackman
3) Peter Bacela
4) Hylton Ackerman
My least favorites are 1) Pat Symcox
2) Allan Donald
3) Andrew Hudson

My Favourite Commentator- David Lloyd

My favourite Cricket Commentator is David Lloyd of Sky Sports. He has a wonderful accent, entertaining and knows what he is talking about. He is at the top of my list. Living in England you only see Sky Sports, Channel Four and Nine Network Commentary, so everyone's opinion is going to be different. I do happen to find Tony Grieg an entertaining Commentator, and am thrilled that he will feature in Brian Lara International Cricket.

The stutter team would be a name for the group.
i swear that even close dream job contestants are better than ather ali khan.

any how u missed out on navjot singh sidhu.rest i like the espn team. and for international fellas, micheal holding is not bad though.

I don't really like David Lloyd. Most of the time he seems to biased towards England. And then there are periods when he tries to show himself to be impartial when he goes on to insult everything that England is doing.

Mine is certainly Navjot Singh Sidhu. He is a funny character in the commentary box. Always making some funny comments! I like him a lot.
