Hey! You deleted me and Drewska mentioning that the Aussies were 31/7 in the Pro Twenty20!!!!

I'll complain to another Mod if you do it again

Dhoni's 183* and 148

Dale Steyn bowling against England(I think). He kept bowling Bouncers which kept getting top edged behind the keeper for four. They finally put a Long Stop in place, and the first ball after that landed just short of the man there!!

Bangladesh beating the Aussies (:hpraise)

Strauss bowling against Zimababwe in a ODI

Bangla beating India (:hpraise)

Boucher bowling against the West Indies, and taking a wicket!(Did that happen last year?)

Ashes(Great Series)
Bangla beat india??

  • Swardeston CC playing at Manor Park
  • Essex Eagles winning the totesport League

micheal Vaughan's innings was VERY lucky, he was dropped three times i think, and bowled on a no-ball. i may be wrong, but i distinctly remember he got many chances. i don' rate micheal vaughan with any talent, except a cricketer's brain.

yep you're right anyone with a good record vs Australia must be rubbish.

Seriously, Vaughan has to be one of the worst top order ODI batsmen in the world and time will probably show that he is simply not as good as Strauss, Trescothick, Flintoff, Pietersen, or even young Bell.

Your right there, but to say he is a rubbish player is not true, he can't transform test to ODIs, everyone knows that, Symonds can't do it the other way around, Are people saying he is rubbish? No.

I think Solanki is a better player then Vaughan.

1. Vaughan's 166 against Australia. Though he might have been lucky, but as they saying goes - fortune favours the brave.

Obviously for me the highlight of 2005 (overall) was England beating Australia in the Ashes, and the manner in which they did it. 1-0 down after the Lords test and then pretty much outplaying the number one side in the world in the other four test matches.

This year has had it all! Records , controversies, great contests !

Here are a few :-

Records :-
*Shane Warne became the first bowler to pick up 600 test wickets .
*Tendulkar became the highest century maker in test cricket .
*Brian Charles Lara became the highest run scorer in tests .
*NZ recorded the highest successful run chase in ODIs (332/8)

Great Contests
:--
*Pakistan beat England 2-0 .
*India and Pakistan drew the test series 1-1 earlier this year .
*NZ and Australia played a fabulously contested ODI series for the Chappel Hadlee Trophy 2005 .

Great Comebacks
:
*Pakistan beat India 4-2 after being 2-0 down in the ODI series .
*England beat Australia 2-1 to win the Ashes series for the first time in 18 years . They were 1-0 down .

Great Innings/Bowling Efforts :-
*M.S.Dhoni of India scored 183* against SRL to record th highest individual score in ODIS by a wicketkeeper .
*Shane Warne picked up 40 English wickets in the Ashes series .
*Ricky Ponting`s hundred at Old Trafford .
* Michael Vaughan`s 166 against Australia
*Tendulkar`s 93 on his return to Intl. cricekt from injury .
*Brian Lara`s double hundred at Adelaide
*Brad Hodge`s double hundred V SA at Perth

Thrilling Contests :
*England V Australia for the Natwest series Final was a tie .
*The 2nd,3rd and 4th Ashes tests were ones to remember .
*India V Pakistan 4th ODI, Ahmedabad 2005 was Pakistan`s highest successful run-chase.
*Aus-NZ 2nd and 3rd ODIs of the Chappel Hadlee Trophy

Upsets :
Bangladesh Beat Australia at Cardiff in the Natwest Series.

From an Indian point of View :
6-1 win against SRL. 2-2 Vs SA
The test series against SRL .
The test match win against Paksitan at Kolkata thanks to 2 centuries by Dravid and a 93 by D.Kaarthik.

What a great year it has been for cricket ! I hope 2006 is better with some big series to come :

What is in store for us in 2006
:

*INDIA V PAKISTAN , Jan-Feb 2006
(If 2005 will be remembered for the Ashes, I feel 2006 will be for this series)
*The VB Series 2006 (AUS-SA-SRL)
*ASIA CUP 2006
*ENGLAND in INDIA , March-April 2006
*Pakistan Tour of England
