Highly addictive.

I have this case where I have to have just one more over before I go to bed and it ends up being another hour of play.

I normally end up playing another half hour in the morning.

Anyone with similar issues.

I find myself being really addicted to the game since patch 2.5 (ps3). My MLB The show franchise is not moving forward Anymore! I spend +-4 hours a day on this game and find myself going to bed after 12 every night. Not influencing work Though!

Have you lost interest in the game then Matt?
Not totally, but I don't play anywhere near as much. The AI batting just frustrates me too much - I quickly reach my limit on how much I can deal with the AI's perfect leaves followed backing away to late cut for 6 so my career stagnates. The majority of my wickets now come from caught and bowled, which is just wrong.

Plus,

means I haven't had any online play to make up for it.

This has been my experience also, on anything other than amateur/ rookie bowling is painful. I bowled 100 overs on veteran, took 5 wickets, the usual suspects, C&B, caught at mid-on, bowled( AI playing a cut shot to a full straight one). I had one edge in all that time for the 6th wicket, it looked great to be fair, taken at gully, umpire gave it, I lit up a celebratory ciggy then realised a new batsman hadn't come in and the old one was still there. I was livid and switched it off at that point.

Bowling needs to be sorted out big time, and BigAnt have been pretty quiet on the subject thus far. Edges increased, aerial shots decreased, batsman playing themselves in rather than going for it like 20/20 in tests, cutshot to full balls removed, and a noticeable difference between top order and lower order as opposed to them all being Adam Gilchrist.

This is true, either they are totally stupid (amateur, pro) or really just perfect to make any mistake. I think this will be the problem with every single cricket game, until some magical AI is generated, still I think a lot can be fixed at least these cut shots for Six can be removed from the game. Playing straight drives should be so much more harder and may have very small timing slot also bats sweet spot can be modified to made so much more smaller, I have seen boundaries coming from shoulder and splice on balls driven.

All such small things will add longevity in AI game play until we see a flawless system, end of the day Cricket is not the easiest game to create.

There is no real 'Artificial Intelligence' at play in any game. It's just lines of script and code. This will remain thus until "singularity" is reached -- a point at which gaming may well become irrelevant.

As such, I think they could improve the code simply by introducing some random number generation algorithm to at least give the impression the "A.I." is fallible. The frequency of hitting the stumps, from any angle, is simply stupid and makes the concept of taking quick singles almost non existent.

I feel that it will be possible in the future for the Big Ant guys as they find out a way to make things right....So I would expect an AI where the computer performs in a way that it changes itself according to the situation and perform accordingly and not feel like a scripted stuff....It will take time but will surely happen in the future...

Or you guys can play actual Humans Online , and forget about all your AI gripes for a while .

Ive said it multiple times , ONLINE is where the longevity of the game will be however good the AI become , humans will figure it out eventually and become bored.

the thing is while playing against Humans[a decent one] online is incredibly fun, but its not cricket, its fun, but most of the time the opponent is going to try to weed you out with an exploit or your singular weakness etc

Also you dont get the feel off leisurely recreating cricketing moments like a well played century or double in online, its always going to be a dogfight online.

So single player is were i get cricketing experience and Ai while still has a quite a lot to improve is preferable over humans in the long run.
