Stephen Fry suffers from depression. I did not know that! He doesn't strike me as a vulnerable sort of person!

It's called manic depression. You can either be in a normal mood, a stage of mania, where your highly creative and happy. THen, without warning you can become very depressed and literally break down for days or weeks.

It's not vulnerable people neccessarily, it may just be a genetic disoder or even a predisposition to having it.

Hmm not good news. I don't like Britney at all, but it is sad. You mustn't forget that theres so many other people who have been in this situation (and hardly any of them famous).
And as Sam said, mental illness isn't really something you'd make up for a publicity stunt.
