Hi,
I am noticing since yesterday that every time I am coming to the Planetcricket site, a new pop-up window opens and tries to install something called WinFixer 2005 which is supposed to be some program looking for spyware and registry problems etc... its ONLY happening when I am visiting PlanetCricket and does not happen on any other website. I have already checked and double checked my computer for viruses/spyware/adware. For confirmation I used a different computer and the same thing happened when I visited Planetcricket.

I am using Mozilla Firefox on Windows xp/2000 Prof.

Any ideas?

i got this as well. by the way shahid would u like to play for the asians XI.
just click on my sig

I suggest a pop-up blocker or a different browser. ;)

yeah, every time I log on, I get a window try to open but my pop-up blocker takes care of it nicely.

I have a pop-up blocker with Firefox, but it doesn't do anything for this specific one.

I run with 2 popup blockers (with IE), if one doesnt get it the other usually does. I found that popups were starting to sneak past if I just used the one.

I'm using Firefox too but i've never come across this. Those with Firefox, do you have the latest version? Don't know whether it makes a difference, but it might.

Which pop-up blocker would you recommend? I used to have google's but it used to freeze up my browser, but that was back in the day when I used IE.

Now I am trying with IE and no pop-ups!
In Firefox I have its default blocker active, and then I also installed Yahoo toolbar and activated its blocker too, yet still got the pop-up.
My main question is... where do these pop-ups come from in the first place? Has this been installed by the webmasters of PlanetCricket.net, maybe in part to help pay for the website? Is this some third party who attaches pop-ups to random websites? If it IS something that the webmaster here can prevent, it would save us a lot of hassle.
