Champions League XX - Tournament Records & Season Summary!

I've made it as fair as I can. If I take away all of Matebaland's players, then they're royally buggered.

I know you tried your best but still I think the best rules were the one which were used in last season. Why don't you use them rather than robbing us from Johnson, Murali, Ponting and who know Mathews! :eek Just have a look at last season's rules. They were the most apt and impartial ones in my opinion. By the way as far as Tuskers team is concerned, they hardly used Murali in ZPL as they had a good local spinner in Price.

You still have:

Chris Gayle
Tharanga Paranavitana
Yuvraj Singh
Upul Tharanga
Hashim Amla
Kumar Sangakkara
Dinesh Chandimal
Daniel Vettori
Sachith Pathirana
Jacques Kallis
Angelo Mathews
Dale Steyn
Lasith Malinga
Sachithra Senanayake
Ajantha Mendis

So stop complaining.

Thankfully Mathews is there and I've got a backup player for each player otherwise my team would have gone already.

Author, I too would recommend you to follow Swirler's player clashes solution as it is the fairest way of distributing the players.

Sure. Here you go:

Player Clashes - Solution (Credit to Swirler)

1. Two teams have the same player in their squads, who is local to one of the sides.

The player is given to the local side and the other side plays without him.

2. Two teams have the same player in their squads, who isn't local to either side.

The player is removed from the match and each team picks from the remaining 17 players in their squads.

3. Two teams have two players in common and neither of them have a local team.

I'll randomly pick a team for both the players to play by using Random.org.

4. Two teams have two players in common, but this time one of them has a local team.

That player will obviously join his local team, and the other player will join the other team.

Excellent, I'll go with that, although good luck to anybody playing against Basnahira.

C'mon mate. If you had followed the last season, you would know that even ZPL team posted a mammoth score against us and Hawk Eye Magpies shot us to a very paltry score and we just managed to make it in the semis. In fact, we were the last team to qualify from the group stage. So, please don't rate us too high. We have some inclusions like Tharanga, Mathews, Chandimal, Amla, Kallis, Muralitharan, Mendis etc this season. Thats other thing though. :D

Man, I would suggest you to make the tourney a double-round robin competition. You can allot the team a home-ground to play on. In that case each team will clash twice with each other, once and home and once away. The team whose at home gets to decide on the clashes. That's what I did in S6 and it went off pretty well. Here are the rules if you'd like.

alright the new clash rules (hopefully is spot on this time)

1. Where a player is eligible for two teams playing against each other, then the player will only play for the team based in his home country.

Eg: If Mountaineers face Cape Cobras, Jacques Kallis will be eligible to play for both teams. However he will play for Cape Cobras because it's a team from his home country

2. If a player from a team in EPL is considered a local player in the team but he is from another country, then the EPL team will get the benefits of the player if he plays against a team (which is not based on the players home country) but if the game is against a team against a team based on the home country of the player then the team (which is based on the players home country) will play him.

Eg: Suppose Andrew Hall plays for a SA, Eng (as a local players) and a Zim club then his preferences are
SA club > Eng club > Zim Club

3. If the players is eligible for two teams where none of the teams is based on his home country then the team who will play on the allotted homeground will get to play that guy (If such situation arises in a playoff then the player will sit out)

Eg: If Ryan Harris plays for an SA club and Eng club then and the match is at the SA club's allotted Homeground then the SA club will play that player

4. Two teams have two players in common and neither of them have a local team, then the team who plays on his allotted homeground will choose whom he wants to play and the other player goes to the other team ( it will be randomly decided using random.org in the playoffs or the managers can negotiate that who plays who)

5. Two teams have two players in common, but this time one of them has a local team. That player will join his local team, and the other player will join the other team.

I'm surprised to be ready ahead of time, so here goes:

Round one lineups are required for the following matches:

Perth Scorchers v Matebaland Tuskers (Group A)
Nairobi Nomads v Basnahira Bears (Group A)
Highland Barbarians v Dragons (Group B)

All matches are on normal pitches.

Nairobi Nomads v Basnahira Bears
