Champions League XX - Tournament Records & Season Summary!

There's OPL (Aus & NZ), ZPL, 2 PPLs, Caribbean, EPL, SLPL (inactive, can return), BPL (inactive, can return).

There are talks of Yudi running an IPL. There is an inactive SAPL as well.

Just had a look at it's squad composition, and if each team boasts 12 locals (correct me if I'm wrong), then I'm more than happy for the OPL to be considered.

But like Iridium says, we need to wait for a fairly long time before hosting the next edition. Would love it if all the test playing nations resumed their respective leagues by then.

What if again there are no leagues from major nations? If there's so much problem, we should have rules stating which teams get in and which teams don't. Geckos didn't do badly, Seattle topped the table. The other two Associate teams couldn't win because they didn't have any internationals. Ottawa had just 2-3, I think. Geckos and Seattle did have pretty solid teams tbh. A set of rules won't do any harm. Also, this could have been brought up before CL 10 started..

The Geckos don't have any proper domestic players though, which is why I've never been a fan of that league being here. Yes they have associates, but they're effectively just a WPL with those associates. Also they had a Kenyan team last time with only one Kenyan player.

My NZPL won't be starting again until Novemeber, and even then that will probably only be another one off season. OPL has New Zealand teams covered though. I guess ideally a New Zealand and Australia team both win seasons one and two, then we can maybe put them both in here.

Hmm I remember running CL6 a year ago during my class 10 vacations and CL 8 just before November (my half yearly exams) So there's usually a a gap of 2-2.5 months between each CL's in which obviously a season of a league can conclude so shouldn't be a problem if all nation based league managers are active. Also I am looking to host CL11. :p

@ Callum - Yeah, agreed with that part. That's where I say rules can come in handy.

That was the case here. We didn't have teams from major nations and hence Associates were included. I agree they should never outnumber or equal the top nations but, I feel this season it had to. Anything less than 8 teams shouldn't be a CL tbh unless there are 6-7 teams from top nations.

That's fine when we can't find enough top flight teams. Another possibility is to include another team from one of the other Test nation based leagues. Yes it goes against the concept of Champions League but it's only fair.

Official top secret CL meeting going on now. :spy

How things are going:

Aus: APL yet to resume, but there may be an OPL team (Mel/season 2 champs)
Ban: BPL is not going atm.
Saf: AfPL is off and so the new SPL T20Pro created.
Sri: SLPL is not active atm, the league is crawling, but it should be over in the next 2 months. :p
Eng: Season/Auction yet to begin but obviously we'll have a champ after 2 months.
NZ: Same status as Aus
ZPL: Small ten round league so it definitely should be finished
WI: Final round of the CPL going on
Pak: Two PPL's running atm, here the question is - which team will be playing?
Associates: There is debate on their participation but the associates should have atleast one representative, the best one.

So, I guess the next CL will have more test teams and it's gonna be a cracker!

Don't think so because it's just like LMS. Plus there are only seven (?) locals per team. Or we can consider it if Wayamba/Cape Town win and we don't have an SL/SA team?

No it has more than 7 locals some teams only have 7 locals because they released them in the trading window. Otherwise Mumbai has 9 locals same goes for Melbourne and Durham.

But obviously having an EPL team would be better than having an English team from INPL. I meant that. Read the second part of my prev post. I wont rule it out since if we don't have an SA team and Cape Town win then they can get in the CL.:)

This can be an option only if we don't find enough top teams. But, one Asc. team should be there, we can have a KO tournament for that. Or, if we aren't to include any Asc. teams, another option would be having Asc. CL separately given there are Asc. leagues running.

I think two teams from a nation would be fine considering there were two Canadian teams in the most recent edition of CL.

Looking at the conditions in the second season of INPL its either Durham, Capetown or Melbourne who may go on to win the season.
